  rip off merchants!
Posted by: Just Anne - 19-12-11, 06:59 PM - Forum: General - Replies (9)

A couple of months ago my car reg was announced over the loud speaker in Tesco. With a sinking feeling I went to customer services to meet a distressed very apologetic lady "I'm so very sorry, I've damaged your beautiful car" she explained the wind had caught her door and it had hit my door.

There was a lot of her paint on my door and mirror, she gave me all her details and the next day her insurance company called to sort everything out. Repairs were organised at my main dealer's bodyshop who had my mini for a week. Car and loan car collected/delivered to me at work, all sortedHER insurance co. Great relief and my faith in human nature intact.

Just renewed my insurance and the bastards put up my pemium by £30 stating the reason that I was clearly putting my car at increased risk because of the areas I parked in!! I was in Tesco!! and I usually park away from the door to reduce the risk (and I think the exercise does me good). Never once made a foccin claim in 25 years of driving and 28 of riding.... thieving foccin bastards.

Why is this allowed to happen?

  Wanted: Cheap Fazer 600
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 19-12-11, 04:36 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

Due to the shitty weather and not being able to find the right Fazer 1000 to replace the one that got smashed a few weeks ago I am looking at getting a 600 so I have something to keep me mobile.

Have a budget of upto £1000, can be the square or foxeye, mileage unimportant but needs to be mechanically sound and preferably have a some sort of service history.

ta.

nb. did spot the silver fzs a few post below, but its above the budget.

  Twiddling my thumbs
Posted by: peterjca - 19-12-11, 01:26 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

I'm off to work at a start-up company in January. Having only just changed jobs, it was awkward resigning on the day my three month probationary period was up. HR wanted me to do a powerpoint presentation on my first three months and I thought what's the point of lying about being satisfied by the work. In actual fact I was poached by the company that interviewed me the day after my current employer interviewed me. The start-up hadn't got its funding in place and so couldn't offer me the job then. Bit of a risky move, but it's a good one career-wise. In at the start as a technical architect to take a prototype (which won an innovation award) to a sellable software product, with lots of R&D along the way.

I've been twiddling my thumbs here the last week and a bit with little to do but surf the internet Smile

  Fuel pump query
Posted by: Wobbly - 19-12-11, 01:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

I'd like to replace the fuel pump on my gen 1 (carbed) Fazer 1000 with something smaller and nicer-looking (like the one on the FZS600) because it's going to be relocated and will probably be on show. The OE item has a built-in pressure sensor and cuts out when the float bowls are full and I was wondering whether it was the same type of set-up on the FZS600? Also, the ones on eBay have one of two finishes, either partly-plated or all black (which I prefer). Please could somebody 'in the know' tell me whether the Fazer 600 pump has a pressure sensor, and which model/year has the all-black finish?

Many thanks in advance and Happy Christmas!  Smile

  Hello To All
Posted by: wardy - 19-12-11, 11:46 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (1)

Just a quick note to say Hi to all you Fazer Fans. I am Wardy, I live in Birmingham in the UK and own a 2004 FZ6-S, and I must say what a great bike it is. I passed my test back in the summer on a Kawasaki ER6, but when I first rode the Fazer I was smitten, so much so I travelled all the way up to Newcastle to ride it the 200 miles or so home !!

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys and maybe attending some of the events that happen.

Oh and by the way, I guess a Merry Christmas to all !!

problems with pyramid hugger fitment on gen1
Posted by: fazer6868 - 18-12-11, 10:24 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Anyone had problems with the above?

My gen 1had a pyramid hugger for around 80k, howver itwas always 'twisted' in that it sat higher on one side than the other even after building up the brake side with spacers.

i eventually had to bin it when it fell apart.

after trying to find some other makes i bought another pyramid thinking that i won't have the same problem and bugger me it's worse.

again on the brake side the hugger is touching the tyre and there is insufficient gap betweek the fornt part and the ceoss bar on the swing arm.
