WANTED CLOCKS FOR GEN 1 or SWAP for kph clocks (34'000)kilometres.
Posted by: nickodemon - 06-01-12, 11:22 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

I'm looking for a set of low mileage clocks (20'000) for my imported fazer 1000 It has 34'000 kms on it which roughly equates to 20 -21'000 miles. I would also happily swap. Smile If anyone knows of clocks from a crashed one let me know, or if anyone knows where i can get the clock mileage reset (If they are higher miles) That would be useful too. Cheers Smile

  Heated Grips
Posted by: Fazerjon - 06-01-12, 08:38 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

I've got a 1999 FZS600 and I need to fit my oxford heated grips, but dont want to wire them straight off the battery as they can be switched on without the ignition being on. If  I wire them to the switched side of the main ignition switch so that they only work with the ignition on, will the main fuse be ok to protect the circuit or do I need an additional fuse? :rolleyes

  Recommend a decent Sat Nav?
Posted by: Bracechenko - 05-01-12, 09:03 PM - Forum: General - Replies (28)

Looking for a bike sat nav for a trip to Europe in June. I can see that they're £200+ new but will be keeping an eye out on Fleabay for 2nd's.

Anyone got any recommendations for models/brands etc? Are they all battery or do they generally hook up to the bike? I've not got a 12v socket and don't really want to fit one if I can help it but if the sat nav can hook straight to the battery then happy days.

Hi all
I have introduced myself a long while ago on the old forum. Just thought I would say hello again and try and make more effort with reading & posting this year.
I live in Norfolk and go to lots of Bike events and  ride outs.

If you had a large-ish amount of euros in a french bank account, how is the best way to transfer it to the UK without losing too much?

How dodgy does this sound!  Big Grin (its all legal i promise)

  Greetings from Montenegro
Posted by: hogar - 05-01-12, 01:17 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (2)

Greetings all! I am 36 years old motorcycle lover from Montenegro. So far, owned Kawasaki KLE 500 and Yamaha TDM900a (sold it in October), but currently motorcycleless. At this point I am looking at 2007 Fazer (one with the fairings) with 19000 km on the clock in decent shape. As it is early registration in 2007 (May) I was wondering how can I check if it is 2007 (or it is 2006) Fazer. Also, as I am 191cm tall, is this to small motorcycle for me? Cheers!

  Cam chain noise?
Posted by: matzec - 05-01-12, 11:19 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hello,
I've been looking at a '02 FZS 600 for sale and I have one doubt. I noticed a slight rattling noise coming from the engine. I believe, but can't say for sure, that it was only present after the engine was warmed up. Together with the owner we went to talk to his mechanic, who said that what we hear is the cam chain, but it is nothing to worry about. The bike did 46000 kilometers and for this reason I also asked the mechanic whether he checked valve clearances, to which he answered that there is no need to do this in this model... I found this quite weird.
So my questions are:
- would you say this mechanic is even trustworthy?
- if the cam chain tensioner would require replacing, is this costly?

Best regards
Maciek

Maybe soon to be FZ1-S owner
Posted by: b1k3rdude - 04-01-12, 11:39 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (17)

I'm considering buying an FZ1-S after my previous gen gosh smashed. The bike is stock apart from a modded seat (which is the first thing I would have changed), but am I correct in assuming that i may need to get and fit an FCE if the delay at 4500rpm is annoying enough?

Other than the above what else do I need to be aware of regarding this bike before going ahead?
