  Rear fuel tank bolt
Posted by: Ubique 895 - 28-12-11, 01:46 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Hello,

So I've just finished servicing the Gf's bike and I seem to have come unstuck on putting the bracket back on that the fuel tank sits on (seat end). I seem to remember unscrewing the two bolts but don't remember retrieving any nuts or a plate that was underneath securing it to the frame. I've shaken the bike like mad, tipped it over pretty far both sides and not even a rattle to suggest theres anything dropped down anywhere and the garage floor is clear.

Have I lost something or is there nothing to loose and I'm just being a twit and doing something wrong..?

Any Ideas?

[Image: Fazer#5690971246838712690] Here's a pic of the bracket I mean.

Any help will be more than welcome!

Many Thanks,

Ben

Hello,

My name is Ben and I ride a Suzuki V Strom!! -

However, my GF rides a sweet looking 2001 FZS 600 which we brought back in September as she upgraded from her Honda CBF 125 which she'd ridden round on for a year before doing her DAS this summer.

I'll be the mug paying for it and keeping it roadworthy so just thought i'd drop a message to say hey!

Cheers,

Ben

Don't "do" much on internet bike forums these days as i'm getting old and already know it all (almost)  Wink

2003 Fazer 1000. Almost standard with 34000 on the clock. An all year rider with lots of commuting, long runs with a local club and the odd Europian tour thrown in for good measure. Had the Fazer a couple of years and it's so good at everything its almost bland in a wierd kind of way. Having come from a Fuel injected BlackBird and more i see of the newer Bikes on offer, i hope the thou stays healthy for a good few years yet 8)

I've been lurking here for a while and look forward to meeting ya'll Smile

FZS1000 Rear Calliper Fitted to my 600.
Posted by: subby - 27-12-11, 09:59 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (20)

Hi all.. just spend the evening in the shed fitting the blue spot calliper I got a few weeks back.. all went well and jobs done.. well happy with the result. Only thing I was worried about was bleeding the calliper.. I fitted the brake line and forgot I had the nipples loose on the calliper.. after a few minutes brake fluid starting running out on its own!
I used an old brake disc to pump the pistons out and it more or less bled itself.. couldn't believe my luck!

A lot better looking than the original!

Matches the front now.

I gather others who have done this mod have noticed the calliper isn't centre on the disc? I used a washer as marked on the above pic to centre it. Does leaving it slightly to one side make any difference?
All in all good evenings work!

Whos buggered up the forum page?
Loads of html and formatting errors on both FF4 and IE9 - text overlapping, misalignment and classic white text on a freaking white background.

Nokia phones - fail! Other options?
Posted by: pointer2null - 27-12-11, 07:53 PM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

My trusted old Motorola V8 Razr finally packed in and went to Silicon heaven (where all the little calculators go). So go me a Nokia C3-00 for xmas - seemed quite good but is sadly lacking, mostly simple features, but things I use often (multiple alarms, countdown timer, can't change display timeout, cannot switch off the damn snooze function etc). No wonder Nokia sales and revenue are in free fall.

So, does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want a touch screen (been borrowing a dreadfull HTC wildfire) - I like the qwerty keyboard bit but don't need the whole email/facebook/msn/app/web browser thing. Well at least at the mo I've no need to check my email whilst riding to work or taking a dump.

Also don't wanna spend a small fortune on it. lol

  Biofuel timebomb?

Hi Guys, i am new to the forum but spotted something that worried me a little and there is no information on if it affects bikes.
petrol stations are due to start stocking E10 fuel and i'm a little worried it will damage my 03 plate FZS600.

heres the link http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default....ryId=24900

I have read that BP will be doing the 1st roll out and shell will follow after but leaving v-power at E5 for the time being.

many thanks

  Brake calipers
Posted by: Fuzzy - 26-12-11, 11:31 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

The front brake calipers fitted to my Fazer seem to be different to those I've seen on others. The "blue pots" seem different. Mine are light blue with the inside bit natural aluminum whilst the others I have have seen are darker blue all over.

Is this normal or have they come from another bike? Always wondered....

Thanks,

Fuzzy
