  Happy New Year (almost)
Posted by: DaagS - 30-12-11, 06:41 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (3)

I've owned this FZS600 since August and been very pleased with it. My last Yamaha (a divvy 6) was written off by a skip lorry.
I've only replaced the tyres and chain & sprockets since I've had it but last week the speedo stopped working. I was going to ask for some technical advice but have since had the front wheel out and noticed that the sensor is broken.
Any ideas on what a replacement will cost me? My local dealer doesn't open their spares desk until Tuesday.

  different carbs.
Posted by: FuZzBoM - 30-12-11, 02:55 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Hi all, just curious to know if anyone has experimented with carbs from different bikes? I know the thundercat and r6 are a similar engine layout to the fazer but do they have slightly bigger carbs with same mounting bolt holes maybe?

I have done it to cars many moons ago and it made a world of difference to them so could be worth investigating.

  Bike cover stolen
Posted by: jayplay - 30-12-11, 01:47 AM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Weird one really, woke up today to find my oxford black/silver (red inside) rainex gone and a silver oxford rainex in its place nicely fitted and fastened up.  Mine was quite aged and had cracks and a few tears and the one left has about the same damage. Annoyed about the theft as it was my property and don't feel to comfortable about using the one left as it could of been stolen also. Seriously though whats going on?

Chained up with 2 almax chain's ss65 and 2 squire mc4 ss50 to reach a post throw the bushes.

  Jack up kits any good?
Posted by: Glen M - 29-12-11, 07:53 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

I'm currently rebuilding the bike after the accident and was thinking of fitting a 25mm jack up kit.  I've heard they improve thr cornering.  Does anyone have any experiance of them?  There are a few different ones on ebay at either £16 or £40odd again is it worth the extra cash.
Also would anyone have a picture of them fitted to a 02/03 fazer so that I could see what sort of difference they make.

  FOCing dead AGAIN!!!!
Posted by: ghostbiker - 29-12-11, 04:44 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (16)

SO pissed off right now, Battery is dead once again. thats 6 batterys in 5 years (1 was a replacement for a dodgy one under warrenty)

Every winter the battery dies and wont hold a charge. its perfect all year long can be left for weeks at a time and still start on the button. but yesterday affter a week standing i went to start it and it strugled to start. so on the optimate it went. few hrs later (about 6ish) green light and back on the bike it went.
started fine, then today i go out and its dead as a dodo.
Charging system is all within spec, only drain is the imobaliser which is minamal and isnt a problem all year round.
but every focing year just affter Xmas the battry just dies and wont hold a charge grrrr  :'(

Mostly its gen yam ones i used but have tried others as well and all die at 1 yr old
I know  :'( the bike is kept outside all year round and is ussed all year but is ussed randomly. IE can be ussed every day for a week or so then might be stood for 1-3 weeks when im broke and cant aford fuel, or could be ussed 1 or twice a week for months. its totaly random as its used for fun only and being unemployed meens it gets used when it had fuel lol

just a rant more than anything as there seems to be nothing actualy WRONG with the bike so it must be down to the use it gets. /shrug ARGGGGGG  :'(

Posted by: His Dudeness - 29-12-11, 02:24 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

I'm looking for the dimensions of an exhaust gasket off a 98 model fazer. I want to see if the 400 and the 600 exhaust gaskets are the same size. The dimesions of the 400 ones are

42mm outside diameter
32mm inside diameter
3mm thick

thanks
