How is the headlight delay circuit implemented on the thou? I have a bandit 600 s that I'm using for winter and I want to install a HID kit but as you know HID kits dont like being on when your trying to start the bike as it turns off and shortens the life opf the burner/ballast.

Hi all,
I am new to this site and biking in general having finally made it to my mid life crisis :lol . Been on the bike now for 18 months and racking up a good 20K miles a year and loving it.
Now to my Q. I am planning a trip to Ben Nevis in the summer with my 11 yr old daughter on the back (already take her on the back regularly) and need some advice on what luggage works well on a 2002 FZS 600. Currently have a small tankbag (approx 15-20 litres) and a Givi topbox (42 or 46 litre, can't remember). Had a look at the Oxford soft panniers and the Hein Gericke streetline panniers (which I prefer the look of), but unsure if these would be the best option.
Whatever solution I go for I will need to be able to take walking boots + fleece + waterproofs in addition to clothes enough for a week for both of us. Ideally with a tent (have a very small two man tent), but cant do hostels if space doesn't allow.
Anyway would love to hear you suggestions or experiences, especially around a 500 trip with pillion.
Thanks in advance
Sinbad

Been running my own forum for quite some time and sadly its very quiet on there so decided to join a forum specific to my own bike for tips advice and share the odd funny story. I ride a Yammy FZS1000 2003 model and love it. We have had our ups and downs as does any long term relationship ha but mostly its all good. I ride all year round and in fact have been to work this morning in the icy. I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne so thats not too unusual although this winter has been very mild so far compared to last years bad weather. Not that I seen it as my partner and I were lucky enough to go travelling for a year around SE Asia and Australia. (wont go into what happened in Oz but we wont be going back there) Getting married in a matter of weeks so this forum should be a good break from all the wedding crack ect. Anyway, thanks for having me.

Oil level check |

Hi there, new Fazer owner here,,,
Just read the post on Fazer maintenance and would like to check the correct method of checking the oil. What it said in the document was to run the bike for a few minutes then stop, let it settle and check the oil level. Normally I'd do this when the bike is cold and sitting on a level surface. Is this correct? Wouldn't like to overfill it :o
Cheers guys,

Hi there, thought I'd join the club as I've just bought a,,,, Fazer!
Previous bikes have been larger or faster but now's the time to be sensible :lol
Mostly I commute 350 miles a week but looking forward to the warmer weather and now the boy's into bikes as well, the continent is calling me again. Roll on Assen!
