  Engine cradle bolts
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 08-02-12, 08:40 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

right....I'll try and explain this the best i can.

I have yam crash bungs that attach via two bolts to the frame. the bolts go through the frame, through the engine cradle and are secured at the back by nuts/washers. If you stand at the side of the bike and look at the bungs the top bolt is slightly thicker than the lower one (you can only tell that by looking from the inside though)

In the Haynes manual under torque settings it says....

Frame cross-piece-to-cradle bolts  33Nm
Frame cross-peice-to-engine bolts  55Nm
Frame cradle-to main frame bolts    24Nm

so from the above which torque setting applies to the two bolts I'm talking about?

Answers on a postcard.  Big Grin

Cheers

Evening All Chris from Manc

Just bought a 2008 fz1 looking forward to taking it out when the ice clears up. Been riding for a long time since 1976 lots of  bikes over the years not my first fazer had a 1998 600 a while ago.

I am just selling my 2000 TDM 850 which has been a cracking bike, had an R1 for track use which i sold for a TRX, so enjoy the Yam thousand, do all the usual riding weekend scratch, trips away, ride most of the year round.
