  carb spring
Posted by: nickodemon - 19-02-12, 04:07 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (2)

I have a full monty fazer and a standard one. The question is - can i shorten the carb spring, so its the same length as the full monty spring to make the throttle snappier on the standard bike?  Smile  Or can the mod only be done if it has the kit fitted? :'(

  Redneck joke...
Posted by: Grahamm - 19-02-12, 03:03 PM - Forum: General - No Replies

A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck.

"Where's Henry?" the others asked.

"Henry had a stroke o' some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the successful hunter replied.

"You left Henry layin' out there and carried the deer back?" they inquired.

"A tough call," nodded the hunter. "But I figured no one's gonna steal Henry!"

fzs 600 2001 OEM Handlebar Spec
Posted by: Revilo18 - 19-02-12, 10:04 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Hi all, first post so go easy plz.

Some idiot knocked my fazer over when parked on the street. The handlebars have bent slightly - right side is up about an inch on the left....makes for interesting cornering!

I was looking to replace with renthals anyway so it was a good excuse.

I want to get a good idea about the riding position before buying. I've read all the posts about 789s (streetfighter) and 758s (ultra lows) and I'm tempted by the 758s.... but i want to know how much lower i'll be then the original bars. I use the bike daily for 20 mile trip to work and often have a pillion. Also do a lot of riding on A3 up and down to family in the south and don't want the pillion exposed by me being way over the tank....

I've also seen the 754s (low) - are these more similar to the original bars?

Right now I'm thinking that I'm going to get the Ultra Lows (758) and trim 15 mil off each end and go for plug bar ends but if the Lows (754s) make for a better pillion ride I'll go with those. Not too interested in looking mean - just comfy!

So, does anyone know the original spec (height, rise, width, sweep) of the OEM bars?

I'm going to straighten the old bars once their off the bike so any tips on how to do this would also be great. Want to keep them in case I ever sell (which I don't see happening as this is the best all round bike ever made).

Thanks,

Posted by: shady - 19-02-12, 12:48 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

For sale a cellular line Interphone bluetooth headset, upgraded to the F4 which does bike to bike while this will do pillion to rider, connect with your phone or sat nav no problem. The audio clarity is exceptional even when travelling at 70mph l've spoke to folk who didn't realise l was on the bike the sound is that good, used it to provide voice information from my TomTom rider, the battery life is amazing, boxed, with instructions and fittings, picture is the actual item attached to my helmet, lookng for £55 + postage as its as new condition.   Quitting smoking....Day 6
Posted by: helen - 18-02-12, 11:41 PM - Forum: General - Replies (31)

Yeah I know, I've been trying to quit for years!  But this time I've made it to day 6.  Smile

So far so good using the cold turkey method.  I've been grumpy, bad tempered, restless and wanted to rip the heads off small children BUT I'm feeling better for it and looking forward to a smoke-free future.

Hopefully I'll notice the difference when I get back into training for my first enduro event this year.  Got a Kawasaki MX125 up and running, goes like the wind, falls over easily and is light enough to pick up again  :o

It all happened very fast and the only thing that i can remember thinking before the van came to a stop, is this is going to hurt as i took the huge signs out  Sad  the police are prosecuting the woman and she and her insurance have accepted full liability the recovery brought the van home because i had tools i needed to get out however some have been damaged and my satnav and phone kit is fooked as well..
