now some unbeleivably cheap corsa rosso's will be gracing my bike shortly, it's time to look at the front brakes.
brembo race (£95) to kyoto (£18).
neither of those will be gracing my bike. i've used goldfren before and they were fine, but wondering about sbs/carbon lorraine.
anyone care to share!

Been out in the shed changing the front fairing this week, anyway whilst the front plastics etc were off I decided to change the front fork oil, on doing the job I found the springs were fitted upside down, can anybody explain this, is it a mod I haven't heard about. the roads are still quite crappy here so I have not had a blast out to see if the springs being the right way round will make any difference. So anybody care to comment as to whether it would make that much difference.

transmission 'clunk' |

hi everyone,
my 04 FZS1000 seems to have developed an odd, 'loose' feeling clunk when i rev the engine a little while idling. I think usually when in gear with the clutch engaged - feels like some slack being taken up somewhere(?).
Pretty sure it's not the drive chain/front sprocket as that's all new and secure. Wouldn't be something in the clutch would it? It sounds like it's coming from that area.
Any thoughts gratefully received.

Got a phone call today from my pacemaker clinic, can i come up urgently for my well over due service and check up. Apparently some member of staff forgot to book me in and even forgot my reminder letter. I'm so bloody annoyed, part of the terms of my supervised provional licence are i must keep up with my clinic appointments. :eek :eek

Brake light not working - front only |

When I pull the front brake, the brake lights don't come on. The bulbs are fine as the light comes on with the rear brake.
So, what's the 1st thing to check? Is it a switch or relay or something on the lever? I'm not the most gifted electrician but will have a go....hopefully it's a common fix!
FZS600 btw

Just taken my plugs out for a clean and they don't have the terminal on the top that goes on the top of the thread. Now as I have no point of reference is this normal .
Also iridium plugs or normal ? I hear that iridium are not worth the money for the Fazer ?

Right, which fecker nicked my EXUP valve???? |

Decided last weekend that it was about time I serviced my EXUP valve.
After 2.5 hours stripping it down and getting the fecking bolts out I finally removed the external plate (that was all connected up to the cables and everything) and found there's no bloody valve in there. >: >: >:
Oh well, I've bought some stainless bolts for it today and I'm going to get a peice of 4mm thick stainless plate and make a blanking plate for it. That will do until (or If) I can get a valve off Ebay.

Cleaning gunk |

As I am trying to get the bike roadworthy again I thought I might as well clean as I go along. The last chain lube I used left a particularly thick gunk on the top and side of the swingarm. I recall wiping it down but it just left a really hard to shift smear.
What product would you recommend to cut through this and leave it nice and clean again?
