  European restriction
Posted by: dazza - 02-03-12, 06:30 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

Need to pick some brains, took my fazer 1000 gen 1 to be dyno tested today as i had a gut feeling it was holding back. Turns out to have the european restriction  producing 98.8 bhp @tbw. Does anybody know exactly how it is restricted either carbs, cam, ecu or a combination of them all ? Fair play to my local bike shop where i bought it  who said they would remedy it for me foc which i didn't expect tbh. Only i want to get it ivanised soon but to my mind, depending on the way it is restricted need to sort this first. Any feedback or advice will be welcome.

  Horror footage of speeding biker
Posted by: bikerboys - 02-03-12, 05:47 PM - Forum: General - Replies (45)

Speeding biker hits 156mph on motorcycle - dangerous or careless?

A MANIAC on a bike weaves between cars in a lethal 156mph police chase. Frightening footage of the pursuit on the busy A1 motorway was captured by a camera on board a police motorbike.
Peter Clarke, 44, was seen in eight minutes of footage undertaking and scraping through small gaps on his powerful Suzuki.
Despite claiming he was in total control at all times — and insisting it was built for speed — he was convicted of dangerous driving but still walked free.
Clarke, from Sutton St Edmund, Lincs, had admitted speeding but denied the second charge.
He was convicted by a majority verdict following a trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
Clarke did not notice the cop behind him on the north-bound carriageway near Alconbury, Cambs, and was stopped near Sawtry.
Hang on...weren't the Police speeding as well? You can't have it all ways...one rule for them and one for us...wouldn't it be nice to live your life the way you wanted, ?

A plus to being part of the Foc-u BMF affiliation
Posted by: ghostbiker - 02-03-12, 05:14 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

Me and my daughter joined the BMF part of the Foc-u, For those that don't know we try to do a couple of BMF shows each year to promote FOC-u and have a blast doing it.
There are a number of benefits from joining but one that neither I nor my daughter expected just happened.

I got sent a link about a trial BMF are doing on some bikes for their next magazine.
one of the trials if for ppl that have recently passed their 33bhp test and are or have recently moved up from a 125.
well my daughter has in the last few months passed and moved to an er5 so sent her the link and she jumped at the chance.
She just got excepted and will be given a brand new bike (they wont tell her what one) for 4 days next weekend followed by a photo shoot and article in the mag. she is over the moon at the thought of getting her hands on a new bike lol
and all this made possable by being part of the foc-u bmf affiliation Smile

  Mobile phones
Posted by: BBROWN1664 - 02-03-12, 03:08 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

I have the Samsung Galaxy S at the moment. Phone works well most of the time apart from teh occasional lock up which is probably more related to keeping it in my pocket. The problem is network coverage. I am with 3 and most of the time this is OK but I stay regularly at a hotel in Huntingdon where there is fec all signal on 3 (my phone) or Orange (works phone) so looking to move to O2 (vodafone on works dongle is crap too).
Should I just go for a SIM only contract and keep the Galaxy S or get a new phone?

Been looking at the Galaxy S2, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S but cant make up my mind. I do use the Wifi Hotspot thing for laptop/iPad access that the Android phones have so if iPhones dont do this, they are out of the mix. Any suggestions?

Posted by: Madders - 02-03-12, 01:52 PM - Forum: General - Replies (48)

In another post I referred to my lovely girlfriend, Joanne (negates camp comments by not using Jo) as being 'possibly' the future Mrs Madley and have received stick for this ever since. I would like to confirm that I am very pleased to announce that 'Jo' has agreed to marry me.
Now that's me out of the crap time to save for that ring. :lol :lol :lol

  Introduction....be rude not to
Posted by: dazza - 02-03-12, 12:47 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (5)

Thought it only polite to introduce myself. Hello people, my name is Darren, I live in kent and have recently been bitten again with the bike bug after over 20 years away after a friend lent me his hornet  for a week. Have had many bikes in the past from motocross to 350 & 500 powervalves  & a gpz 1000 rx. I work on the London underground as a protection master/site person in charge and am an ex-bootneck. Came across this site only last month and think i'll stick around for a bit. Ride Safely  Smile
