Hi all,
looking at next bike purchase and a gen 1 and gen2 are both on my list. so I`m really looking for those of you who have tried/owned both. why did you go for gen1/gen2? why did you change? do you regret changing? you get the picture.  really like the gen2 stance but sat on a gen1 and have read a few  reviews and  like the feedback Ive been getting. which one  is the best?  what are the pros and cons  for each bike... all input is really appreciated, you know what its like trying to decide on your next bike

  NOT SELLING!!Basterd long post.

twice I tried to sell my ER6F  but no bugger is buying.
its an 09 face lift model it has only 3,000 miles on the clock.
I paid  £5,075 plus another couple of hundreds quid on it in accessories.
put it up for £3,200 but no takers.kinell the bike is like new! :\
I just cannot ride it far before numb bumness appears.
last time out I did 212 miles by the time I got home I could have cried with the pain :'( :lol .
as you can imagine it has put me off biking and almost gave up biking.
I traded my 03 yam fazer 600 for it, I now wish I hadn't but its gone now ,no good dwelling on it.if I can sell my ER I'd get another Fazer.
one of the reason that I sold the fazer it was a little high.
I was worried in case I'd drop it with my wife on the back.
on some roads no problem but if it has a deep camber ..it was a case of tip toeing trying to revers in or out whilst parking.
I'm not a short ass either just over 5'11"
on the move no problem.
sat on the ER6 perfect so I thought light/low.
hindsight is a wonderful thing but it no good if ya bike gone!
I never thought that I could of lowered it a bit.
I could trade it in for a Fazer1,000 again that is higher still.
I took the thou/600 for a test ride and I liked the 600 it felt lower etc so I bought the 600(new in 03).
I'm buggered if I'm going to sell the ER6 at a knock down price.
I had the seat redone 2 year ago and I don't think the guy has done it right.
don't get me wrong it looks beautiful but...
the seat is trying to push me towards the tank and at times it feel like friction burn.
and I think the foam that he has used is no correct.
a couple of bikers friends have said so to inc a dealer.
where I sit on its round'sh thats wrong to I believe.
the handle bars to is trying to push my hand's out, that doesn't feel comfortable at all.
soon get used to it.
but at my age 60 bike has to suit me not the other way round.
my two lads say sell the bike and get another Fazer.
wife would like me to keep the ER6 and me to as this is my last new bike I'll ever own.
and I like it to but its no good if I can ride it far.
so me think is try once more get the seat re-done(by Tony archer ,I've heard he's very good) and lower bars and if it doesn't work out sell it next year.
so am I wasting my time you recon??
my old Fazer.......

Hi,

My Chain snapped on my Fazer, Luckily at slow speed ~20mph, Not sure why.. Chain was lubed (Scotoiler) and adjusted regulary...

Anyways, the damage is a snapped Clutch pushrod/Actuator shaft... but my main concern is the hole which the shaft goes through..  The Shaft has made a nice oblong shape out of what was once a nice round hole. Hopefully the pictures below show what i mean.

Please can one of you experts tell me if the hole is acutally part of the lowercasings, and I have really screwed the pooch, and a new engine/casing is required.. or.. is this a bush/insert that i can replace.

I am kinda thinking its the casings, but.. ya never know...

Thanks in advance

Chris
