  Someone Locked My Bike?!?!
Posted by: Phil TK - 09-03-12, 09:56 AM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Returned to the motorcycle bay last night after work and found that some joker had put a cable lock through my front wheel. Why someone should do this is a mystery and thinking about it, just a little bit sinister. Fortunately, despite it being a quarter inch thick cable I managed to borrow a hacksaw from a nearby building site and cut it off in about 5 minutes. No damage to the bike and no sign of other tampering.

Is this a new form of vandalism or anti-motorcycle antic? Has anyone else heard of this happening?
Ferkin mad or what?

  Alpine Road Trip
Posted by: spoonman - 09-03-12, 09:42 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (3)

Hello!
I've owned my 2001 FZS 600 for 5 years, I bought it with 20k miles and I've put a further 8k on it with annual servicing. I've had no problems with the bike. (I go fairly easy on her)

I am planning a trip to the Alps in June, which will involve a long motorway ride from Cherbourg to Northern French Alps and back and 7 days of Alpine Pass riding! Smile All with full pannier set.

Should I be concerned about breakdowns/problems given the age / mileage of my bike?

Any precautions I should take when getting it serviced before I go? (eg clutch?)

Any input would be much apprechiated. Thanks.

Just a suggestion, but would it be possible to put what city/town/area members live, on the section where their names are? Just would be good to see where ppl live and in doing so find out if there are other members in your own area. I've just discovered that there are several live near me and we have arranged a meet up. Or is this already accesible and I'm just being thick?

New chain and sprockets arrived today, including a 47 tooth rear, just waiting for my shock to arrive and then bang it all on and hey presto! Instant new bike (sort of), just in time for the silly season Smile .  On another point, a few people have mentioned that, after fitting Devilsyam's R6 shock kit, they noticed their bikes have more of a tendancy to wheelie, is this correct?
