FZS 1000 touring accessories for sale.. UPDATED some bits sold Price dropped on
Posted by: Flymo Fo - 04-04-12, 10:24 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (12)

I've sold my '51 FZS1000 to the trade. They didn't want to pay any extra for the extras so I put it back to standard and now I've got some interesting bargains - thought I'd offer these specific Fazer FZS1000 bits for sale here before Fleabaying them..

So, first off I have an MRA adjustable screen, good as new condition vast improvement on the stock screen.
<< STOP PRESS SCREEN SOLD TO DEVILSYAM >>

Next we have a set of Arms and Base Plate to fit a Givi Monokey Top Box. These come complete with unique custom built powder coated tubular side pannier racks which take Givi Monokey cases. The racks fit over standard indicators and are in excellent condition. Cost me £250 all up. To you sir, £175.

STOP PRESS PRICE REDUCTION: As we have a very limited marketplace here i.e. Only FZS1000 Gen 1 Fazer owners who want to put Top Box & side panniers onto their bike.. and since this stuff is only going to collect dust in my garage unless it goes... How about this;

Buy the (excellent condition) Top Case mounting set for FZS1000 Fazer 01-02 Givi ref 348FZ/M5 (new price £88.66) for £75 and I'll throw in the custom made side pannier racks for another £25 - that's a bargain at £100 all in inc postage to UK Mainland..

Here is the bike fully loaded with 3 off 45 litre Gvi boxes - enough room for her shoes even!  :lol

Here is the bike with the bracketry but no luggage.

Here is a view of the Near side pannier rack itself - note it fits to the Givi baseplate - so you need one of those if you want the pannier racks on their own..

Lastly we have a 45 litre Givi Monokey top box, in good used condition

I'm near J25 M1 if you want to come and see.

PM me for contact details.

  Fuel Injection....?
Posted by: phil on a fazer - 04-04-12, 12:42 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

First off im not trying to start the "carbs vs FI" argument.

Im looking (and have been for ages) at getting a 2[sup]nd[/sup] bike. I want a dual sport or adventure bike (what ever you wish to call them) and it will probably be fuel injected (either a single or a twin…prob a single, for on and off road use)

Ive never been a fan of fuel injection. Why?...well, FI is a bunch of electrical sensors and injectors, and that means (to me anyway) when or if you have a problem you have to pay a stealer to sort it for you. (=$$$$$)

The carbs on my Fazer thou have been sound. Balance them here and there….maybe chuck some fuel additive in to clean them….once in a blue moon you can even take them out for a overhaul – easy!

I know the benifets of fuel injection but it’s the negatives that worry me. I know some people buy and sell bikes regurley but im the type of person that does as much research as poss, buy something and then keeps it for life. (like my trusty Fazer)  Wink

So what "maintance" do you need to do to a fuel injected bikes…if any? Do the injecters need cleaning?....replacing?....checking? any one had any problems and had to have a dealer sort it out?

Im a simple person who likes simple things and bikes with fuel injection/ABS and so on just screams to me "this is gonna cost ya big somewhere down the line and if it breaks down in the middle of nowwhere you've got lesss chance of getting it fixed than a plain old simple bike".  8)

What are peoples views.....…do I need to change with the times & worry less? or earn more money so i can pay for the repairs?

Tar
Phil

  FZS 1000 2003

Hi Folks
Just a quick hello, I needed a 2 up bike for a trip to Spain, Andorra, the Pyranees and Millau last Sept and bought a 03 13k miles FZS 1000 10 days before heading off, we covered 3000 miles in 10 days, fully loaded and 2 up and she performed brilliantly. Powerful enough to cruise at 100 mph, agile enough to do the Cols, rear tire wear was high, the front was low, due to it being off the ground most of the trip Smile
Good old bike and the only one in our group that didn't have any problems,
