After searching for a long time, I found a free sky 1 feed on wiziwig.tv  or wiziwig.eu    the one below is currently working good for sky 1 coverage.  Beats having to pay extra to watch it on TV.  You get ads popping up on some feeds,  but they will close when you click on the x button.    Not as good as tv,  but good enough for me !

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while but thought I'd stick up an introduction post.  Bought a 2001Y FZS600 this morning as my first bike - not got my licence yet but have my mod 2 test on Friday 
The headlight will be going and the standard faring/lights back on - not too keen on it as it is and for a commuter the screen will be useful.  The faring is split on both sides but a bit of fiberglass, some sandpaper and a rattlecan will see it right  :lol

Decided to give my calipers a good clean today, pushed the pistons out, cleaned and applied red grease on the pistons fitted old pads back on etc.

i noticed the front wheel is slightly stiffer than what it originally was and after riding the discs do get hot (not scolding hot but hot enough to make it uncomfortable after a while. (Read somewhere this is perfectly normal so the brakes work in the wet  [img alt=:]http://images.proboards.com/rolleyes.gif[/img])

So riding home i was plodding along at 60mph some focus coastering behind me for ages then he wizzes past me flashing his hazards?

i'm thinking when i refitted the pads i never put them in the old positions hence the extra friction?

I've seen a few on Ebay lately, not what I'm after unfortunately, but if you know someone........?

Had my current Gen1 1000 for about a month now and finally got round doing all my tweaks including firming up my front and rear suspension which was bouncier than a space hopper on a trampoline.


According to the owner's manual, the range of adjustment for the rebound damping on the front forks is 17 clicks.
[size=1em]I started with the adjusting screws turned fully clockwise to the firmest setting. To get to this, the left screw took at least 25 clicks and the right probably a couple less (not the most promising of starts).[/size]
I'm a big (ish) bloke but I was by no means forcing the screws to get them to the hardest setting (I stopped as soon as I encountered reasonable resistance).
Both screws were then at the same point of firmness, however.....
Whilst the right screw height was probably 1mm above flush with the spring preload bolt, the left screw was a good 3mm down inside the preload bolt.
I re-checked the right screw and there was no way it would turn enough times to get it down to the same height as the left.
With this slightly odd starting point I turned each screw counter clockwise 7 clicks to get the damping on the comfier side of firm.


I've also adjusted the spring preload and compression damping to what I think should the best balance for my size and riding style.
There is a noticeably nice firming up of the pitch of the bike when I apply the front brake but it's only been tested with me pushing the bike.
I'm hoping to test it properly tomorrow and I'm looking forward to experiencing the change in ride but I'm still a little worried about the uneven height of the rebound damping screws.


Are the screws supposed to be the same height or is it the number of clicks from the same starting point the most important factor?

After owning a Firestorm and a CBF600 I'm now back on a 600 Fazer, my third.  :rollin

Had a test ride yesterday and can't decide whether I really liked its torquey engine and comfort or whether it's just yet another adventure-type bike which felt soullessly efficient :\

Has anyone gone from a Fazer 600 to Strom 650? Pleased?

Replacing my fork seals is taking WAAAAAY longer than it should thanks to Yam's insistence on making the mudguard bolts out of cheese.
What should be a two and a half hour job has so far taken me the thick end of two hours just to drop the foccin' forks out.
Ended up losing my patience and twatting the mudguard with a BFH, so it's now in slightly more pieces that it was when it left the factory.
:rolleyes :lol

So, moral of the story is allow more time to do things than planned, and don't twat plastic stuff with a hammer.
