  Melancholy Day
Posted by: dweezel - 14-05-12, 06:40 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Hooray! I bought a new bike! :eek 8) :2guns

But I had to trade my FZ6 S2 for it  :'(

I loved Gladys! She was a great bike and great fun to ride. The Two Bros Exhaust was awesome when rattling through the Clyde Tunnel and we had some great miles together. Sad, sad day. I really wished I could have kept her and got the new bike as well but is was just not do-able.

So, whats the new bike I hear you ask? Well I'm sorry to say that I've moved to the dark side and bought a CB1000r :eek  Sacrilege I know, but it looks groovy and it rides smooth as silk imho. I'm picking it up on Saturday (but there is a slim chance I might get it before) and then its  :2guns Confusedmokin :guitar :woot

Hope you lot don't mind if I still loiter around here with a Honda though  :pokefun

  oil warning light
Posted by: Minty - 14-05-12, 06:29 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (8)

Riding to work this morning the oil light briefly flashed on, I was just tootling along about 30mph, only done about 5 miles. Checked oil level at work, seems fine about half way between min & max.
Any ideas? it's not done it again.
Have read somewhere that it's best to keep oil topped up to the top of the sight glass. Anyone else do this?
Cheers
John

  rear brake reservoir
Posted by: bludclot - 14-05-12, 06:02 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

my rear brake reservoir has started leaking. am i unlucky or have others suffered this?

i've ordered a replacement reservoir, cap, rubber and bush, hose and clips. not perhaps the cheapest solution but i figure it will fix it...

was given albeit last minute on sun morning ..a VIP ticket/pass from the Honda team and to be honest what i know about bike racing could be wrote on the edge of a razor blade but it was a good photo op for me so off we went .
Never done bike racing before(photos i mean) ... I dont mind admitting it was a lot harder than i imagined .
Heres a few ..not the best but not bad for my first try lol

  Well Lads ex-up question
Posted by: stevefzs1 - 14-05-12, 03:11 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (5)

I have a Gen 1 Fazer 1000 42,000 miles has an Ivans tuning Kit and generally very smooth but it bogs down completely after you get to 7,000 rpm in every gear and it staggers up the rest of the rev clock i had a look at the ex-up valve at weekend one felt tight a little give each way the top wire and the bottom wire was a lot looser could that be the issue????????/

  another battery
Posted by: snapper - 14-05-12, 12:18 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (12)

ok this is getting boring now !

another battery going in the bin

I wonder if its possible sencible or just plain stupid but can I fit a second standard battey under the seat ?

theres plenty of room ?

has this been thought of before done before ?

I dont have an power at my gargae so I cant use a optimate

I did have a car battery , but I can never remmber to plug it in , I do start the bike and warm it up but not enough by the signs of it !

ok so if this is a workable idea what is the wiring needed ?

can I simply run on wires from both negative and positive terminals? do I need anything on the wires? fuses ?

also will the alternator be able to charge both ?

or is this simply a pipe dream that doesnt hold water and will end up with me owning a pile of molten scrap aluminum steel and burnt plastic ?
