Hi, I am Jon.
I bought a Fazer by accident, not my first choice after owning a VFR, Super Blackbird it was not up there on my wish list, however now it's just mad it over the 1000 mile mark and run in! Its tremendous best thing for everything, a proper all rounder.
look forward to seeing more of the forum and getting advice on bits I need for improving the FZ
Oh! I live in london
Thank you all

does anyone know where i can get the "fazer" decals for the front cowling?
for some reason my bike doesnt have them (and looks as if it never did?) I think the front looks a bit to plain without them.
any info appreciated.
Cheers

What battery do I need for a 2002 Fazer 1000?? Looking online some shopes are selling CT12B-4 and some are selling CT14B-4, both claiming to be correct. The battery I've just removed from my bike because it died unexpectedly was a CT12B-4.

Right guys am gonna buy a new air filter as the one thats in is 12 year old so i thought id give her a treat !!
What do you guys think is better k and n which are slightly dearer(£30) or yamaha genuine part (£25.90)
Anyone notice any difference performance wise, fuel economy etc.

Hi all
just picked up my new fazer, well new to me it is a 98 model after all. Had a wee blast along the motorway and I noticed there was a fair bit of buffeting above 80 ish.
I was wondering if there is any aftermarket screems that are taller than the stock item.I will be doing a fair amount of motorway miles and to make it a wee bit more comfortable.
thanks for your time.

hi all
just picked up my first fazer.black 98,fsh, new tyres, chain and sprockets and heated grips for £1350.
I've only taken it along the m4 so far.I am loving how well it pulls.so much quicker than my old divvy.
i can't wait to take it for a spin round some back roads in and around swansea.

Throttle Cable |

Had a throttle cable snap on my 04 16,000 miler the other day (9.45pm, middle of deepest darkest Wales), which was a bit of a shock as I've never had a problem with any of the 3 gen 1's I've owned up to now.
I definately sit on the mechanically inept side of the do-you-own maintenance fence, but sourced a new cable, took the tank off and was confronted by a mass of cables, pipes etc and when consulting the Haynes manual, they say to replace the cables I have to 'displace' the carbs?
Is this a hard job, and do the carbs need any special setting-up once they been 'displaced' and new cables fitted? I'm thinking of letting a 'professional' do it for me, but wondered if anybody here had any views?
