  Annoyingly Poor Fueling/Ride
Posted by: flesh - 27-07-12, 07:34 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (11)

I have just replaced my Gen 2 '06 FZ1 Fazer with a '10 Plate, mainly because I fancied a different colour  :\
Now the '06 model, as you would expect, was a bit snatchy with the fuel injection, especially on a half throttle. Although it was noticable I could ride around the issue and it was perfectly fine.
As the ECU was changed for the later models my expectations was that things should have improved a bit........how bloody wrong was I. My new bike looks great but the fuelling is so bad it is almost unrideable. Fine on closed or full throttle but anywhere in between it is bloody awful.
Now I know the previous owner had a race can on it and "may" have had a power commander but both have been removed so what could be causing this and what can I do to rectify:

  1. Could it be that the throttle bodies need rebalanced?
  2. Could the ECU be out of sync having had a PC/can on it and needs "reset"
  3. Anything else?
If 2 how can you reset the ECU?
Looks nice though  Smile

  Wanted: Nearside/Left Footpeg/footrest for 99 Fazer
Posted by: kangastu - 27-07-12, 04:57 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (9)

HI I need to replace my nearside footrest on my 99 fazer.  I can take anything from a 98-2003.  I need the whole footpeg as the part which goes through the gear lever is worn and there is play on the gear pedal.

Many Thanks

Stu

  Riding in Poland
Posted by: b3tarev3 - 26-07-12, 10:01 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

Has anyone got any personal experience of riding in Poland?  Looking at riding through Germany into Poland for a look at Auschwitz and the mining area of Silesia  Looked on the internet but can't find anything recent and the ones that i can find don't really sell the place.  Ruts in the roads as long as the M6,  lorries driving at night with no lights on, pissed up drivers, the list  goes on  (sounds just like the UK s'pose) !! Was really looking froward to this but not too sure now.......  :\
