I think its time to sell
Posted by: breamcatcher - 31-07-12, 11:43 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (27)

Hi everyone, thinking about selling my fzs1000 (2005) 15,000 miles  this bike is my second one of these i only passed my test in December 2011, and in the new year got knocked off, a bit bruised but ok his insurance company rebuilt the bike everything ok with the bike ,felt a little unsure about getting back on but finally picked up the courage and went for a ride everything was ok, started to get a bit of conferdence fourth time out went round a corner to fast bottled it sat up and the rest is history, my insurance company wrote the bike off cat C. I couldn't blame the bike is was my inexsperience, had to take time off with my injuries and had time to think i couldn't blame the bike spent a lot of money getting through my test so i deceided to get another bike which ended up same colour same year tried to go out on but each time no confidence so its got to go, not to sure how much to ask comes with full luggage anyone got any ideas.Cheers Dave

For all you Londoners that don't have anywhere to do your Spanner work try out Oval Motorcycle Centre. Simon and Matt have set up one of the best DIY maintenance workshops I have ever seen! And for all of you who are a little unsure about spannering your own bike, don't fear Matt is a fully qualified mechanic with heaps of experience and is always on hand to guide you through any procedure!

Try them out! Smile

  After market brake lines
Posted by: dolau - 31-07-12, 08:50 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Brought a set of stainless brake lines for my FZ6 which came as two long lines obviously meant to the joined at the master cylinder and run to each front caliper. Also short on for the rear

Went to get them fixed today in the bike shop and he wouldnt  :eek

The OEM brake line goes from the master cylinder to the nearside caliper where it is bracketed and then over the mudguard with a clip with a short brake line to the offside caliper where it isnt bracketed

He says that if he fits the twin lines the offside one will flop about as there is no bracket and may cause an accident.

Seem to recall when I had them fitted to my old FZS6 they just used a couple of zippy ties to hold the two brake lines together and it was never queried on subsequent MOT's etc

Any advice from bike mechanics out there?  :o :\

  Coming back.

Hello all - returning to motorcycling after 20 years in a few weeks time. Had motorbikes since I was 17 but had to give up due to rising costs. Now I'm an OAP insurance seems to have come down to an affordable level. Have got the first offer on a relation's Fazer 600 S2a which I hope to rest drive soon. Really looking forward to it.

  My Beloved Fazer Has Gone.......
Posted by: Slimted - 31-07-12, 07:50 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

All my own doing. I finally chopped my Fazer in for a new CBR600F. I know, I know, please dont berate me. I am sad enough as it is. While the Honda is a great bike it does seem to lack the character of the old Fazer. All see everywhere now is Fazer's, are they ganging up on me!
I shall never forget Goldie, especially that last time at Brands when we ate loads of far newer, faster bikes for breakfast (yes, I know it's not a race......).
To whoever gets hold of my old bike, please look after it, and it'll serve you well.
Slimted
Looking for a good con FZS.........

  oil filter rounded off
Posted by: dazza - 31-07-12, 06:13 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (23)

Hello peeps, recently whilst doing an oil change and using the correct removal tool it rounded off the end of the filter. Am wondering whether I should have let it cool down more before trying to remove it or the obvious and not nip it up so tight :\  but the damage has been done now so has anyone also had this problem and how did you get round it ? Please don't tell me to stick a screwdriver in it.

Posted by: dnsn - 31-07-12, 03:50 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (5)

Hi Friends,
Has anyone fitted an S P engg: exhaust on your FZ6 ? i basically need to know the db noise level when installed. I was impressed with the exhaust when i heard it on youtube. Spoke to S P engg : but they say it is loud and they haven't checked it themselves.

As I am interested in doing few track days noise level is a concern.

so if anyone has an idea please do share...i own an 08 fz6 s2 (naked)

ride safe..
