  loss of power
Posted by: alan09 - 23-07-12, 09:39 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

its only happened twice but in the last week ive had a loss of power both times it was in 4th or 5th gear while givin it abit of a handfull. when i say loss of power i mean a split second loss, in the blink of an eye the power goes & comes back, it happens so quickly i dont even get chance to back the throttle off. but i can physically feel the front of the bike dive at the front, apart from that the bike runs sweet as a nut, starts first every time.its 51 gen 1, done 26k miles & ivanised by mike in 2010.

Oxford 1st Time Tail Pack For Sale
Posted by: ericthebikeking - 23-07-12, 09:00 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (4)

Oxford 1st Time Tail Pack

Only used a handful of times. No damage or marks.

Comes complete with:

  • adjustable and detachable shoulder carry strap
  • 4 elasticated bungee straps
  • integral velcro strap (ideal for strapping the bag to the seat)

The bag has fold away flaps to protect bike paintwork from straps. These have clips to fasten together out of the way when the bag is used off the bike.
It also has:
  • 1 zipped internal pocket
  • 1 zipped external pocket
  • zipped closure of main bag
  • 10 'D' rings for securing the bag to the bike
  • 4 integral sleeves in base to pass bungees through
  • reflective panels side and back

The approximate dimensions of the bag are:
  • height 30cm
  • depth (excluding pocket) 26cm
  • width 30 cm
It has lots of strapping options, gives a good shape for loading up and you can get a full face helmet in no problem.
It doesn't have a rain cover with it but the material appears pretty water resistant as it looks like a coated nylon.

On sale on ebay with low starting price!
Find it here:

UK postage only, collection in person from Leicester area is welcome. If you have any questions I'll be very happy to try and answer them. Ask via ebay as I look daily. Thanks.

  Headlight Fuse Keeps Blowing
Posted by: MissB - 23-07-12, 08:23 PM - Forum: FZ6 / Fazer - Replies (3)

I have a 2002 FZS6 - I went to a rally a couple of weeks back and it turned out to be a rather moist one. The bike was stood in a field for a couple of days with constant rain pouring on it.

On the way home the headlights went and it turned out to be a fuse, I changed the fuse and it appeared ok - until I washed the bike and then the same thing happened again... :'(

To me it sounds like there is maybe an exposed/corroded wire somewhere that is getting wet and then shorting out?

Any other suggestions as to what this could be?

  scotoiler / steering wobble
Posted by: rufus t glasgow - 23-07-12, 07:42 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

hi guys and girls...

what's your thoughts on the scotoiler vsystem? I was thinking about investing in one, £89.95 at the moment with a free dual injector. I've seen all the promo materials and testimonials, does it live up to the hype? also i've heard that they can be a bit fiddly to fit and set up and the supplied instructions can be a bit vague, at best.

on a slightly different note.

my fazer has developed a wee bit of a steering wobble. until recently she would stay true, with no hands on the bars, even at around 40mph. but not now, at around 20mph it is quite pronounced with no hands. at first i thought this due to poor loading of my panniers and rollbag on my return from scotland. however after arriving in wales and unloading the bike the wobble is still there.

I'm fairly sure that the bearings, front and back and steering head are all fine. one of the fork seals is staring to weep slightly. so my main question is, would the leaking fork seal account for the steering wobble or is there more to it.

Anyone else noticed the much welcome, cooling effect a full tank of petrol has on the nether regions?
When it's this warm, I actually look forward to the fuel light coming on.  :lol

Any help please.
