  New Fazer 600 Owner
Posted by: cav - 03-08-12, 11:02 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (6)

Just picked up my 2000 Fazer 600 last night 8)

It's good to be back on a bike, even if it's only being used a commuter tool. Been to work on it today (28 mile round trip) and all is well, I just need an end can to liven things up a little.

It was a toss up between a Fazer and a BMW F800R, obviously the FZS won. Especially as it was 1/4 the price of the BM

  Wanted: Fazer 600 Exhaust
Posted by: cav - 03-08-12, 10:48 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

I've just got my 2000 Fazer and first thing on my list is a better exhaust, has anyone got one lying around before I hand over my hard earned to PipeWerx? I promised myself not to spend any money on this but an exhaust is a necessity 8)

  T.P.S. setting
Posted by: darrsi - 03-08-12, 03:07 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

I just did a quick test on my TPS setting and the needle on the rev counter was about 5300rpm.
Is that okay being thereabouts, or should it be bang on 5000rpm?

My bike is in great condition, never been dropped, could probably do with a wash but still looks brilliant. It comes with a bunch of extras, these include:

  • Heated grips, great in the winter and means you can wear summer gloves all year round
  • Scottoiler, along with the fairly recent chain replacement means you won't have to worry about the chain
  • New tyres just over a year back
  • Topbox, very convenient
  • Saddlebags, great for a weekend away

The bike also comes with:
  • MOT till May next year
  • Full service was done at the same time as the MOT
  • Tax till December
  • Two black keys and the red key
  • Two keys for the Topbox
Bike is in Derby, £2750, offers considered for quick sale

What's the furthest you've owned a bike for?
Posted by: Fazerider - 03-08-12, 12:49 PM - Forum: General - Replies (16)

A recent post asked what was the longest you'd kept a bike for. It reminded me of a friend who'd bought a Honda RS250 new in 1981 and sold it last year... so, a nice round 30 years of ownership (it still started after a couple of kicks too). On the other hand, he'd only put 12,000 miles on it in all that time!

Perhaps a better guide to how well we get on with a particular bike would be how much we've used it... rather than how long we've been prepared to store it. So, what's the greatest mileage you've added to a bike?

  trail bike rolling frame
Posted by: caretaker - 03-08-12, 12:02 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

bit of a long shot but if anyone has a trail type rolling frame with V5 not too far from the south wales M4 corridor, i'd be interested. i have a cb250 rs engine so it needs to be roomy enough for a 4 stroke motor. thanks. (BTW i'm on ebay every day!)
