  JUST BEEN IVANISED!
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 24-08-12, 07:28 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (36)

Just collected my bike after having the "Ivan's Slip-On Mod" done.  I rode it home with the original exhaust on and then I fitted the new BlueFlame TwinPort silencer.  With standard exhaust, the main difference seemed to be top-end rush, and with the BlueFlame on, I'm concerned that my judgement is being influenced by that gorgeous sound!

So I'm gonna wait a few days before coming out with my opinion of it. I've also had the Z8 tyres and a new chain and sprockets fitted. Oh, and one of those R&G ShockTubes to keep the rear shock in good nick.

  Hello all
Posted by: dano - 24-08-12, 03:16 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (8)

hi i have recently brought a fazer 600 `99.. from a reputable dealer..
i got it home and fuel was leaking onj the floor..
i had 1 months guarantee on the bike so returned it to the dealer for repair, to find out the tank had a rust hole in the base and they were/ are still trying to fill it with hole/crack repair compound.
would tyhis be condsidered a bodge to get the bike outside the month guarantee period or is this a suitable repair?
will the compound give way within a few months or should i insist on a new tank...
any comments or help appreciated - cheers in advance.

Laying the bike up for winter
Posted by: tomjimtom - 24-08-12, 02:11 PM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

I reckon there's going to be a few of these topics coming, so I may as well start us off!

I'm off to New Zealand for 6 months in 2 weeks time, so what do we all do to keep our bikes minty fresh whist not in use?

I've got what's in the Haynes manual, but does anyone have anything extra they do?

Thanks in advance

Tom

Any Body got a copy of the Rocketman BBC Documentary
Posted by: bwizz - 24-08-12, 12:37 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

Asked for this on the old  form with no luck. Any body got a copy of the BBC documentary of around 2000  in the mission series. The Rocketman , featuring Richard Brown attempt to break the 2 wheel  speed record. I used  to have this on video but the tape is knackered
can't find it anywhere on the web .

  Ivans jet kit Help!
Posted by: lingy - 24-08-12, 12:23 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

Fitted the ivan,s kit and balanced the carbs, no problems at all.
But what i do have know is a very slight surging at low revs when just idling alone at say 30/40 mph. Every thing else spot on and as I say it is very slight but was not there before fitting the kit, is this the norm.
Any experts out there.

  European Breakdown cover
Posted by: BBROWN1664 - 24-08-12, 12:10 PM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

In the UK I have 3 different break down policies (bank, personal and warranty) covering the car but none of them cover Europe. Looking to get european cover for the car but ideally personal coverage rather than naming a specific vehicle as over the next 12 months I will be travelling in 2 or more cars and the bike to france but dont want to take out policies for each vehicle.
I know RAC do the policy where for £5 I can change the vehicle each time but would rather just have a policy I dont need to think about.

Any suggestions?
