Mobile Phone
Posted by: pete786.u - 22-11-12, 08:04 PM - Forum: General - Replies (2)

I`ve got a new phone ( ZTE KIS ) and I`m having trouble getting the music player to work.I`ve got  an 8gb micro SD card with some music on it that works fine on my old Nokia phone. Music is downloaded from Windows Media Player so I take it they are WMP / WMA. Should I convert them to MP3 format and try that? There is nothing in the online manual that states what format to use, All help much appreciated.

  Where do you fit in.

Cut and pasted from an email sent to me recently, i think we all know someoner in the second caqtegoryBeing a good rider is about knowing your skill level and riding at that level, maybe testing your limits every now and then to improve your skills. Its about knowing the limits of the bike your riding and how it rides, being able to control the bike in all weathers and in unexpected situations. Its about having respect for other riders no matter what machine they ride are the skill level they are at. Having respect for other road users and the bikers you are riding with by not putting them in any unnecessary danger, beginning the ride together and finishing the ride together. And maintaining your bike to the best it can be.

Thinking your a good rider is about getting to the destination as fast as possible. Bragging about how amazing you are and thinking that nothing will stop you, when clearly your skills are nothing to brag about. Taking unnecessary risks that put yourself, other riders and car drivers at risk giving bikers a bad name. Riding your '180mph' machine at full speed everywhere you go even when it is not maintained to be fit on the road. And lastly having no respect for the bikers you ride with, treating every journey as though it were the TT.........

  Insurance renewal
Posted by: Agent Picolax - 22-11-12, 11:34 AM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

It's that time of year when I need to shop around for a good deal on my Fazer 600 insurance, especially when my current insurer Devitt have put my premium up and included a £10 renewal fee (WTF!!). I ain't paying them £10 to renew, so unless they can match the best quote from 'The Bike Insurer' comparison site, £78 from Saga Select, I'm off to Saga to start smelling of wee and thinking about buying a thou  :lol

well we won our court battle for unfair dismissal and are due back in court on the 22nd of january  :woot does anybody know if we have to pay tax on our compensation? we have no idea how much we will get but it could be as much as a years wage we think (hope) as far as losses go i am about £30 a week down on this gardening leave but on the other hand i am not using £20 a week on fuel so can't complain. will have to find a job in january but i will worry about that later.  Wink

  Speed Awareness courses
Posted by: Robbie8666 - 22-11-12, 09:27 AM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Having done a speed awareness course instead of taking the points on my license I read in the news today that Admiral are going to increase your premium if you declare that you have attended a course

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20328860

I must admit at the time of going to the course I did think this was going to be a complete waste of time etc and to be fair i probably didn't get the most out of the course as i sat there during the course just looking at my watch. I probably only really listened to an hour out of the 4 hours.

HOWEVER on refection I have now noticed that my driving / riding attitude has totally changed and now rarely drive above the limit as to where before i would sit on or just above it. the plus side of this is my mpg has gone up massively and only added about 10 mins to my weekly commute of 250 miles! and only 5 minutes on my daily commute of 35 miles!
