Bike gone - Bits for sale (FZS Fazer 600)
Posted by: chrisandrew01 - 07-12-12, 05:15 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (2)

My bike has now gone, therefore i have a couple of extras for sale.

Genuine Yamaha Touring Flip screen in Smoke colour - Excellent Condition - £40

A SkidMarx rear hugger in Black (this one has the extended piece at the front to keep crud off the linkages and shock - Good condition, a few marks where it was fitted and then removed. Still very useable and you cant see the marks when its fitted. Cost me £80 2 months ago - £35 as it is.

Photos Attached
Would prefer collection due to the hassle of getting my hands on a box and getting to the post office etc - but will post if buyer is unable to collect - please note postage will be on top and will be additional £10 each as i'm guesstimating due to size and the fact i'll send with a signature needed.

PM me if interested - I live in Wolverhampton, a couple of minutes from the M54 junction. Also the model i had was a 2002 (facelift model)

On my ride to work at 0500 this morning and it was minus 5 and seemed like a good time to try my new Keis heated under gloves. I must say they kept my hand bearable, not to hot but after unplugging them the chill was noticeable within a a mile or so. The only gripe is lack of feel. Heyho! No gloves no feeling, with gloves no feel?

Does anyone here use these and can recommend a good make. There's a few to choose from, with reviews both good and bad. Bad reviews are mostly poor sound quality, bad connections or noisy spools.

It's just going to get used it the car.

Has anybody used one of these? Looking for something to keep the dust and other crap off the bike through winter (in the garage), so not fussed about it being waterproof (probably better if it isn't?)

  Which fork oil?
Posted by: darrsi - 06-12-12, 08:11 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (14)

I've been getting a slightly unnerving feeling through my steering for a while, which i can only describe as similar to having a tyre with low pressure.
The thing is the tyre pressure is okay (36f-42r), and the tyre's only a few months old, so i reckon it's going to be something to do with the fork oil.
There's no leaks or anything but i can't really think of any other explanation?
It's mainly noticeable at low speeds too.
My question though is what are your views on 15w fork oil, rather than the recommended 10w?
Is there any major difference in feel?
My forks are just standard one's with no mods or anything, in fact they're older than my bike, without the adjusters on top.
Any comments appreciated as always.

Thanks, Darren.
