Cold - fireblake - 06-12-12 On my ride to work at 0500 this morning and it was minus 5 and seemed like a good time to try my new Keis heated under gloves. I must say they kept my hand bearable, not to hot but after unplugging them the chill was noticeable within a a mile or so. The only gripe is lack of feel. Heyho! No gloves no feeling, with gloves no feel? Re: Cold - Grahamm - 08-12-12 You're always going to get less feel with a thick pair of winter gloves on. At least with the heated gloves you won't have no feel *and* freezing fingers! ![]() Re: Cold - bwizz - 08-12-12 Last year I fitted heated grips to my Fz600 but i found the feel difference betwean my other bike so strange that i had to fit a pair to the thou as well, At high speed on very cold days its strange having hot palms with cold knuckles, I might even consider the lever covers mentioned (fitted as standard to some Suzukis) Heated grips or gloves are good but my heated under jacket is well worth the £40 I paid, makes cold days a pleasure. Just got to get grips with the misting up helmet issue Re: Cold - JZS 600 - 08-12-12 I do a lot of filtering on the way into work and while the hands are warm with the grips on, when I'm covering the brake and clutch levers, the metal was taking the heat out of my fingers. Now I've got neoprene sleeves over the levers and it's happy days again ![]() Re: Cold - stevierst - 08-12-12 I've used bar muffs for the last 10 years, and they're superb, especially when coupled with heated grips. You can wear summer gloves all year round then. ![]() Had a set of KTM handguards on my Tiger 1050 that I just got rid of, even they make a difference on their own. ![]() Re: Cold - fireblake - 13-12-12 Justy1000 has brush guards on his thou but reckoned they don't help to keep the cold out. Re: Cold - fireblake - 13-12-12 I used muffs on an Urban Tiger FireBlade, it looked fooling stupid but did the job. Stupid thing is, I think I sold them at a car boot sale last year Mickey Re: Cold - stevierst - 13-12-12 (13-12-12, 09:08 PM)fireblake link Wrote: Justy1000 has brush guards on his thou but reckoned they don't help to keep the cold out. They definately keep the wind off to some degree. With heated grips I suppose they could cope with most weathers. But muffs are a definite winner. ![]() Re: Cold - Exupnut - 13-12-12 i got some tucano urbano on me Co bike..brilly in the chilly for 40 nannies. when the mrs is on the back thats three muffs :lol Re: Cold - fireblake - 14-12-12 (13-12-12, 09:51 PM)Exupnut link Wrote: i got some tucano urbano on me Co bike..brilly in the chilly for 40 nannies. when the mrs is on the back thats three muffs :lol Where's the like button when you want one? |
