  Exup cable lubing
Posted by: fireblake - 25-03-13, 08:04 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

What's the best way to lube the cables, I don't want to remove them from the servo as it seems to be a tad awkward. I see on Pat's page that it might be best to lube from the bottom?

Any ideas??

Rear brake seals and Tight Valves
Posted by: humbucker88 - 25-03-13, 07:55 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (4)

Does the rear brake caliper need to be split in half in order to change the seals/get the pistons out? I don't have access to compressed air so it's a tad annoying. Also...I recently checked my valves, one of the intakes is 0.07mm, instead of the recommended 0.11-0.20, is this a big deal? don't make me do the timing chain again!!!

EDIT: Third quick question, if one of my carbs is coated in oil/crud, what could this indicate?

  Home Brewing Corner
Posted by: Liroka - 25-03-13, 04:54 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

Are there any other budding home brewers on the forum or am I alone?

Do you brew all grain, extract or kits? Do you have any favourite tipples or just tips you would like to share? Or do you have any particularly nice recipes?

Tell us what you're brewing, drinking or planning...

I'm currently drinking the remainder of a Cooper's IPA I brewed a couple of months ago and a particularly astringent pear wine that a colleague of mine made about a year ago - tastes like crap but it knocks your socks off.  :lol

At the moment I'm brewing

Cooper's English Bitter using medium DME as the fermentable
A Wilko's Cabernet Sauvignon
A gallon of pikey powered turbo tramp fuel.

Bring on the summer! 8)

  What hope is there.............
Posted by: DILLIGAFF - 25-03-13, 02:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (15)

TWICE in the last week alone I have followed someone who STILL hasn't worked out how their indicators function, signalling left instead of right and v/v.

Surely if they can't grasp the basics of driving, and are unaware of the repeater on the dashboard TELLING THEM they are wrong, they have no hope of ever being safe behind the wheel?  :eek :'(

  Handlebar Clamp Risers.....
Posted by: packie - 25-03-13, 11:15 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (1)

Bought these for my Renthal Flat bars just to give more clearance at the fairing and the tank. The product will raise your bars by 3 cms. They cost £20

I bought them on ebay but they are not listed there now. The company is a bike shop called Moto Tempo in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. www.mototempo.co.uk.

The product is made by a company called Bike it.co.uk

First Impressions:

1. Well made product.
2. Fits Spot on. Slight negative would be that the product might be a universal clamp, so it's not flush fitting around the clamp area. The half-moon area is spot on and flush, though. When painted black to match the rest of my handlebar area, this won't be too noticable.
3. As you will see from the photos, it gives excellent clearance both on the fairing and on the tank. It also made the riding position more comfortable for me.
4. It also helps further to keep your throttle, clutch cable, and front brake hose away from the dash area.
5. Will enhance comfortability for touring to those with standard bars. So I would add a set to my kit if I tour with my bike or if I did high mileage day to day. They can be easily swapped back to the originals for those days that you want a sportier feel on the track.

So outside them not being totally flush fitting....and excellent product IMO.

I'll send the photos in two posts. Post one will have the product, the before and after clutch lever clearance, and tank clearance photos. Post two will have two shots of the clamps close up and an overall photo of the bars.

  Looking at a fox eye
Posted by: redthunder - 25-03-13, 04:03 AM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (10)

Hi guys just joined up to take a look around, currently own a diversion 600 but the brake calipers seized on me while riding and threw me off. It's an economic write off in my book to get it right but it made me look at other bikes and I've found a great 2002 fazer 600 with a few extras in near mint condition that I will hopefully own by next weekend.

Belly pan, hugger /chain guard in colour. Double bubble screen also in colour, Scott oiler, micron end can... The only thing I can think of that it doesn't have is a fancy radiator cover.

I hope to stick around and be back with some pictures next week!
