  Maxxis Diamonds Tyres
Posted by: sure2ride - 02-04-13, 11:12 AM - Forum: General - Replies (6)

Looking for a new set of tyres for my fazer 8. My Yam dealer recommending Maxxis Diamonds as good grip and hard wearing?
Anyone used a set of these or have any views on them?

  Reinstall engine
Posted by: Jimmygixxer - 02-04-13, 11:07 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

I've had the engine out of the bike for a few months over the winter giving it and part of the frame a bit of a spray paint.
When i was taking it out it was a bit of a bitch to get out and i marked the bottom of the frame doing so as its an unbelivably tight fit.
Anyone any tips on the best way to get it back in?
I took it out from the throttle side of the bike.

  Fan Circuit
Posted by: Kage7 - 02-04-13, 09:58 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Well this is kinda embarrassing.... I'm putting my bike back together, and for the life of me can't find where the fan plugs back in? Don't suppose anyone can lend a hand? There also seems to be a small socket behind the rear light (under the seat cowl) not plugged into anything, I don't think it ever was either, any ideas what it's for?

  lowering a 2007 FZ1-s
Posted by: jadejordan - 02-04-13, 08:53 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Hi

I am considering lowering my FZ1 so my feet are flat on the ground and not on tip toes as they are now.

Can anyone recommend the best way or kit to do this and is it an easy job to do.

Also do you know if you have to shorten the side stand and if it significantly changes the handling of the bike.

Thanks

  Restricted track days?
Posted by: ChristoT - 02-04-13, 12:35 AM - Forum: General - Replies (5)

I'd love to do a track day (as nailing my bike down round French roads is fun, but frowned upon by Monsieur Plod  Wink ), and was thinking about doing one when I come back to England to return to my studies.

I've heard a lot of conflicting info on this, so here's how I stand:

I have a Fazer 600, with a 33hp restrictor, & I have Richa leather trousers with sliders, and a Richa jacket - they zip together over 3/4s of the way.

Question is: CAN I DO TRACK? I found a link after googling that shows that there's (at least) one company that allows 33hps on, but they charge an absolute fortune for it. Anyone able to shed some light on this? Do all firms allow 33hp bikes on with adequate insurance + gear, or is it full power only for most of them?

Many thanks in advance!  Smile

  Car mot (brakes)
Posted by: Panthor - 01-04-13, 10:23 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

I had my car mot about 4 weeks ago and have since done approx 500 miles. It started making a hell of a noise when braking so thought I'd have a look and found that the pads on front were all completely work out and one side had been making a nice big groove into the discs. Shouldn't this have been picked up during the mot? It had no advisories.

Thanks

  Bar End Weights
Posted by: bigbluebear - 01-04-13, 09:26 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (33)

How important is it to get the handle bar end weights correct. I have Renthal 773's and the difference in the weight of the bar ends is pretty vast from standard. Maybe its just me, but the handling seems a bit odd at the front end, I've just fitted a new Nitron back shock and new K-Tech front springs hoping that this would change the behaviour but it hasn't......now thinking it's the bar ends.....any advice welcome
