Brand New TFT Dash for sale SOLD!
Posted by: Geowulf - 14-04-20, 08:44 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi Guys, I have a brand new never been fitted and still in the original box TFT Dash from Danny's TFT Dash Project for a Gen 1 Fazer 1000.

This is a replacement for my original, but before it arrived, I sold my bike, therefore it is surplus to requirements. I'll take £200 for it with free courier delivery (UK only) and it is fully supported by Danny's TFT Dash Project.

Please IM me if you're interested.

Cheers
Geo

  Belly pans?
Posted by: Decoke Dave - 13-04-20, 10:36 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Firstly, is a belly pan worth fitting to keep crap off the bottom of the bike/exhausts, or are they purely cosmetic? Can you access the EXUP valve without removing them, or only on some makes?  Can the fitting of them be damaging to the bike frame paint?  What ones have you found to be the best, and can I buy them in original bike matching colours?  Amen!  You Guru's on here will know.  Wink

Wanted. One downpipe FZS 1000 Gen 1.

Anyone got a totally knackered, utterly useless, EXUP/manifold set?  Looking for one downpipe, just butchered off with a grinder or hacksaw?  For research/developement and analytical purposes!  :thumbup

  Tyre problem
Posted by: Choppa - 13-04-20, 05:19 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

Hi there I'm having a bit bother with my front tyre,it keeps going flat . I've taken it to the garage but they couldn't find anything wrong with it but replaced the valve just in case, but the tyre is still going down. The wheel looks straight no sign of damage could it be a dodgy tyre ,still has plenty of tread left so I'm reluctant to replace it.
Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues and what was the outcome, cheers.

Hi! (again) First joined around 2014 when I bought a very neglected fz- pic 1,  over the years have probably spent more money than I should of on this project and still have stuff to do .Over the last year i have bought the various bits i still needed -original rear side panels for one at so I can get the spraying finished in one go. Also have to fit a new wiring loom as have a few faults due to previous owner chopping bits and attempting to rejoin. As like most of you i'm in lockdown  so seems like a good time to pull it apart again! just thought i'd show you progress so far- it has been on the road and ridden by the way- not just sat in the garage for 6 years.  Mick

  Coolant leaking from float bowl
Posted by: ilzak - 12-04-20, 09:30 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (9)

Hey lads,
this is something quiet weird i noticed today.
Went for a somewhat longer ride and after taking a break the entire right side of the engine was white.Had a closer look at it and saw that the right float bowl was dripping. I suppose it is coolant since it smells like it and has a greenish tint to it.Gas wouldn't leave a white film over the engine as well right?
Anyway, if I'm right and it is coolant, how the hell does it get into the float bowl?

What the foc are you reading now!
Posted by: VNA - 12-04-20, 07:55 PM - Forum: General - Replies (36)

OK, so we’ve got the ongoing ‘What are you listening to thread’, so what about ‘what the foc are you reading now’ thread?

VNA is not a big reader of books.  I’m always wanting to read books, sometimes I buy books, and occasionally I even read one or two of them.  Shocking really.

I figure, a lot of us, though not everybody, has a certain amount of time on their hands now and again at the mo.

So, rather than take out a Netflix subscription – all the rage these days – I’m gonna read some books.

So what the foc are you reading just now?  And if you are reading something really foccin good and would recommend – well go on, let us know.

VNA has just finished The Changeling by Robin Jenkins – which was absolutely fantastic.  Set in the 50’s in Glasgow, School teacher Mr Forbes takes an interest in bright young Tom Curdie, a troubled boy from the slums of Glasgow.  Unintended consequences I think is the phrase that springs to mind in this deeply dark short novel.

If you do get a copy don’t whatever you do read the introduction!  (and don’t worry the use of Scots is fairly minimal)

I’ve now moved onto Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. An absolute hoot as Vonnegut savages every aspect of modern American society – at least I think that’s what he’s doing – foc knows, but it’s a heck of a laugh anyway.

So yeah, both recommended if you haven’t already.

Hi I’m looking to purchase a device for holding my iPhone to use as a satnav, the ones I’ve seen connect to the handle bars but there isn’t a lot of room on the available bar for it to connect to.Be interested what other FZ6 owners have used on their bike ?ThanksKevin
