  Radiator paint

Most of the existing paint has chipped off. Can I use Hammerite Metal Pain or does it have to be high temperature stuff?

A friend has made me these for when I cleaning my bike, they replace the ones with fingers which can slip if you're not careful, ok you can't remove the wheel but ideal when cleaning etc. one has a 19mm nut drilled and welded on the other is turned down to 3/8 in or 9.5mm approx.
they also fit my MT-01 which was a struggle on the other type.
thanks to Paul for making them........ patt pending

  Gen II fuel controllers
Posted by: stevierst - 26-05-13, 08:08 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (1)

I'm looking at upping the performance mods on my gen II, and most people use a power commander.
But has anyone out there with a gen II used either the Wiseco fuel controller, or the Two brothers juicebox? They seem a little cheaper than the pcv, but are they any good?

Thus far it's been AWESOME.
Aegis' advice is don't worry about brake pad wear, transit vans stop you far more effectively.

Hi all

I came to the world of Fazers by accident, literally. I had a small 'off' last year that ripped tendons in my shoulder and put me out of riding for 6-12 months according to the docs. So I sold my nearly new Deauville and bought a very beaten up 2001 FZS600 cheap on eBay for a project to keep me going in the dark, riderless months. She was newly MOT'd and running but in needs of lots of work. Here's what I have done so far [updated 18-08-13]:

- new rear wheel bearings and seals, including sprocket carrier bearing
- new swingarm bearings and seals
- new swingarm linkage bearings
- removed dodgy alarm that was draining battery
- new battery
- new chain and sprockets
- rear brake overhaul with new disc, pads, pistons, seals, bleed nipples and fluid flush
- front brake refurbished with fresh pads, bleed nipples and fluid flush
- new sprocket case cover
- replaced all seals in sprocket case, including push rod seal and gear linkage seal
- rebuilt clutch actuator mechanism (ball bearing nightmare!)
- new clutch cable
- new clutch lever and brake lever
- replaced various fixings and bits and bobs
- new service items (oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs and caps)
- new grips
- new main wiring loom (easier than I feared)
- new fuel pump
- new fuel pump/cut-off relay
- replaced CDI
- replaced flasher relay
- replaced rear indicators
- replaced footrest hangers (left and right)
- new footrests (left and right)
- new rear brake lever and gear lever rubbers
- performed FOC tip to wire both headlights on dim switch (thanks FOCers!)

Dare not add up the cost!  :eek

She's all back together now and working well. She already had stainless exhaust headers and a nice Viper end can, so there's nothing left to do.

Problem now is that I've been bitten by the restoration bug and am already thinking of selling her on in order to make space for a new project. Is this normal?
