| Yet another tyres thread |

Right, sorry, here's yet another tyre thread (the forum lives off these, doesn't it)
Here's the situation: I do a lot of touring miles, but do like flinging it about too - they don't call me Merv the Swerve for nothing! I currently run Maxxis Supermaxx, and to be quite honest, I'm sick of them. The rear has only done about 6000 miles, and they're much too pedestrian for my taste. What I'm after is a set of tyres that won't cost the earth but will handle pretty well. Budget is a bit of an issue though, so will have to scour the internet.
In a nutshell, what I'm after is:
Decent durability
Sporty enough to scrape footrests without worrying I'm about to lose the back end
All I really know is I sure as hell don't want to go back to the Maxxis! Waay too boring for my taste. Oh, and for any couriers, paupers etc, I'll put up my current front tyre when I change sets. It's only about half worn (if that), no punctures, no nasty gouges, and quite well scrubbed.

With the new MT-09 coming out this year for £6800 I cant see many going for a FZ8 now. I hope dealers haven't stocked up with the 2013 version because they wont sell them.

Hi,
Bike passed MOT on Friday.
The inspector pointed out that 3 of 4 header clamps had snapped on the exhaust, thankfully there was no exhaust gasses escaping at the time and it passed. But since I have started to hear a slight muffle sound from the exhaust so I am thinking that maybe some gasses are starting to escape whether it's after the engine is hot/cold not sure.
In January only one was showing a crack. Now 3 have broken in two, probably the steel is not up to the job, anyway
Again it looks to be a common issue with SS exhausts from Sandy Bikespares which mine are as well. the clamps are about 6mm thick and the steel must be inferior quality to the OEM units.
I still have my OEM units, somewhere in the garage but if I am to effect the repair that Fazerider did back in January:
http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,5759....l#msg50534
Then I need 8 OEM clamps.
Does anyone have a set off 4 from a scrap OEM exhaust that are not bent that they would be willing to sell.
regards,

| Default Shim Sizes (Intake) |

Hi there, anyone know the standard shim sizes?
I know the exhausts are 1.75mm standard, but the haynes manual makes reference to 1.50mm for the intakes yet mine all seem to be 1.85's
Regards,
Thorn
