Hi all,
Browsed the forum a couple of times in the past, but decided to register after Fizzy Pies gave me one of his 'business cards' at the Three Sisters charity ride out/track day thing on tuesday.
I ride a 2007 FZ1 Fazer (owned from new), a 2000 R1 (from new), and a 1976 CB400F (owned by my father in law since 1978, me since 2002).
Right, off for a poke around the forum esp FZ1 section re handlebar/risers mods.

I could do with some feedback, I have just had the insurance valuation on my 2002 FZS 1000 that had covered 77K, £1650, what do you think? It was in excellent condition with R6 Shock Mod, Ivans Jet Kit and serviced every 4K since new. Do you think that is a fair price? BLD are the people that have valued the bike for the insurers, has anyone else had any dealings with them?

For the first time since I've had the bike, I took a peek at the spark plugs. And foc me, they're in a bad way. I only checked plug 1, but skinned my knuckles badly when doing so, and had a fight getting it out. Plug 3 also had rust marks on the bottom - gonna be painful removing that.
What plugs do you use, are the expensive ones worth it, and how much should I expect to pay for new ones?
Thanks!

Hi all,
My name's Jon and I'm yet another bloke entering his mid-life crisis at 40. My wife gave me a choice, I could either buy a Porsche, bang my secretary or get a bike.
Seeing how I don't have a secretary and a Porsche is, well, a VW Beetle for tossers :rolleyes it had to be the bike.
So last year I did my CBT and got a 125 Virago, pottered around on that until I realised I'd better get something easier to practice my Mod 1 stuff on, sold it, got a 1982 Suzuki GS125 and booked a 4 day direct access course.
I passed that a fortnight ago (Did Mod 1 & 2 on the same day) and weighed up the usual contenders; Hornet, Bandit, Fazer, SV etc, but I think I've made the right choice in a 52 plate FZS600 with 30k on the clock, FSH and one owner.
Got no pics as yet as I only picked it up today and went straight into work from the dealer, so in at the deep end with a 25 mile blast down the M6, and I love it! Much nicer ride than the Bandit I learned on.
Only one problem with it, the fuel gauge seems to read half a tank low. The dealer told me it was half full but the gauge read empty, so I stopped and filled it up, and yes it was half full already, so has anyone else come across this problem? If so is it an easy fix?
