| Cam Timing - Engine Won't Turn! |

Hi there,
I'm pretty stumped on this one, long story short a few months ago my fazer decided life was too much and gave up the ghost. Ended up with new downpipes, a replacement cylinder head and a rebuild project.
The new cylinder head is bolted down and I'm completely stuck at the cam timing. Everytime I get the engine timed up, it just won't turn, it feels completely locked, I dared to give it a little more pressure once and it slipped off the bottom cam sprocket :o
Both guides are in and the cam chain tensioner is in, I've looked at various videos on how to do it on thundercat engines and have read up on the various threads here related to the issue, I have no idea what's going wrong.
I transferred the shims from my old head into the replacement cylinder head as I planned to use my old cams as they were in better condition, but I've tried with both sets of cams with the same problem.
For what its worth, the engine turns fine without the cams in, I have not replaced the camchain (30,000 miles) as I simply don't have the funds at the moment, however I'd say it has a good 10-20k left in it judging by the tensioner position when it came out and how tight the cam chain was.
My next plan is to move onto the unlikely stuff, e.g try it without the guides to see if it's getting caught on them, and try smaller shims, it's worth noting that all the buckets push down freely.
Any ideas? :\

| Rust on stainless downpipes |

I've got a few rust patches that have formed on my stainless downpipes that i'm finding hard to shift.
I did a bit of Googling and decided to try a combination of Coke, Vinegar, Baking Soda and water and tried scrubbing them with scrunched up tin foil but to be honest it did bugger all.
Anyone got any tricks they can share with me, bearing in mind that the rust spots are in limited spaces?

Hi,
I bought some after market FZS1000 mirrors to replace the rubbish ones on the Mark 1 (Square Eye) FZS600. Unfortunately these have corroded on the inside and are no longer useable.
Does anyone have any spare OEM mirrors they don't need?

This arrived at work on Friday, so as it was only 3 bolts I did the honours in the basement car park.

[smg id=1013 type=preview align=center caption="Mtc GpPro 3.jpg"] [smg id=1016 type=preview align=center caption="Mtc GpPro 4.jpg"]
Dosen't look half bad, sounds great on open throttle, however it does make a weird paff paff sound at idle which I'm guessing is down to the low cost baffle and the center stand bump stop spigot dosen't quite line up.
I am going to get them to make me up a stubby link pipe and small bracket AKA Devilsyam's EPE can and pipe.

Go to the HG site to check the specs, but it seems a good one to me. £29.99 (alegedly from £49.99), BUT, when I went to local store to get one (not available on line) I got £10.00 off if I spent more than £30.00. So.....got some chain cleaner which I neded anyway, and effectively got the charger for £19.99. Not Bad....only point to note is that mains connection is via a 2 pin plug so you either need a shaver adapter plug, or I guess you can cut the cable and put an ordinary plug on. ( It does say in instructions that mains cable can be replaced if damaged, so I guess cutting it counts as damage :lol
Anyway, I think it seems a good charger and a good price. Check out your local store for availabilty if interested, I phoned mine first and they had plenty.
