Track day booked for next Monday 8th, weather forecast is good, there's less than 9 places left, if anyone's interested its through focused events and only £79 for the day.
If you want to go but its too far for you I'm only about an hours ride away, you are more than welcome to come stay at mine on the Sunday evening, just send me a message.
God I'm so looking forward to this, only done silverstone and Rockingham (where I rode my T'cat off the tyres on a banked bend! :lol ) both times in the inters group, so staying with that and see if I'm quick enough to move up!

I've always been a fan of Avon Storms but stopped using them when the 2-Ultras had an issue with the shoulders wearing too quickly so I switched to BT023s. I wasn't that happy with the way the Bridgestones handled from the start, my worn out Avons felt more responsive, but I got used to them after a few hundred miles.
Anyhow I had to replace both tyres last weekend and was looking at the new T30s from Bridgestone when I came across this review of the new Avon Storm 3Ds. The fact that they were testing them on a track using a Gen2 Fazer grabbed my attention as did the extra mileage claim which leads me to hope that the wear issue with the front should be resolved, and lastly I was just in time to catch the tail end of a £15 off each tyre offer, so a pair fitted to loose wheels for £190 made my mind up and I bit the bullet.
I am so glad I did, my bike is back to feeling the way it was when I really enjoyed riding it, even my wife said she could tell that the bike was handling a lot better than usual after a Sunday ride through the twisties (not a euphemism). Whilst the Bridgestones were always fairly neutral the bike simply felt happier at 90 degrees, with the Avons the bike feels much happier to change direction and stay where you want it, it even seems to be telling you there's more tyre to explore if you want to.
I'm happy to accept that generally any pair of fresh tyres are going to feel better than the worn ones they've replaced, but this isn't the night/day difference I've found, I'm also happy to accept that some folks will prefer the more 'planted' feeling of a slower steering tyre. But from my initial few rides I can heartily recommend the new Storms to anyone who likes a great handling quicker steering tyre that promises decent wear rates.
I'll post back when I wear through a rear, just checked and my last 2 rear 023s lasted 2800 miles each :eek (front 6900) pretty sure I was getting about 1000 more from a rear on the old Storms.

| Polishing your helmet |

As per title really fellas - any good tips on getting my helmet to look good for the ladies again!
To me its just a paint job with a clear laquer (i think) so in my eyes no different to a car. 500ish miles a week of motorway and London has taken its toll (8 months old and 17k miles covered) even though it gets a wipe over every day (still trying to get one of the girls to spit on it and rub it but no takers yet for some reason :lol ).
Anyone using regular car polish? Was planning on using my car method of the 3-stage Meguirs (Clean, Polish, Wax)........or is this a big no no!
Any advice appreciated in advance .
Cheers

I hope this is OK to put in here, I'm selling my Nolan N-com basic 2 kit. I bought this only last week as a precurser to buying the accompanying Bluetooth add on for it, however when it is fitted to my helmet it make my already snug helmet unbearably so, and so I've removed it after only switching it on to test it.
I've still got the box, all bits and the instructions, and I believe this will fit all ncom helmets that are from model numbers :
N42, N42E, N43, N43AIR, N43E, N43E AIR, N71, N85, N86, N90, N91, N102, and N103.
It may fit others, but these are all listed on the Nolan site. This kit cost me £50 to my door, and I would be willing to part with it for no less than £30 delivered (buyer must pay PayPal fees if using PayPal).
A good chance to grab a bargain it your a Nolan helmet user. I can post some pictures of it before I pack it all back away into the packets, but as I say, its in as new condition. I've advertised this elsewhere too.
Thanks for reading, ill do my best to answer any questions, but I've never ridden with it in, so I've not even properly used it yet :o

| Water in oil after cylinder head overhaul |

I took the head off my FZS600 to sort out a leaky valve. Stripped down the head sorted problem and reassembled. Put head back on with a new genuine Yamaha gasket. Did cam timing and checked all ok. It fired up first time and ran good for 10mins. I had a few coolant pipes leaking so I thought I would stop the engine and tighten them up. Left for 30 mins and checked the oil. Couldn't see any oil in the window so I topped up and topped up still nothing in window. Then I realised something was wrong and thought the worst. Water in the oil. I drained the oil out and it was thick mayonnaise. Took the cam cover off and it was everywhere. I assume all it can be is cylinder head gasket failure. Should I of had my cylinder head checked and skimmed. More to the point can I clean my engine out with something or is it a complete strip down?

May be a daft question but is the link pipe (standard) separate from the standard can? May have the option of a micron slip on and not sure if the standard link pipe would need changing?
