  2004 Fazer 1000 FZS..For sale....worth a look..
Posted by: Tilts - 06-07-13, 11:21 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

Had this on ebay to see what it would do, few offers, but nothing that would separate me form this Fazer. Its a high miler, 62,000 and climbing, but still loads of life in the old girl yet...R6 rear shock unit with polished dog bones, Ivanised Carbs, Renthal bars, CNC Custom levers, Scott oiler, fresh oil filter and coolant, the engine has been cleaned up and sprayed, Carbon Com Can, Chain, sprockets, pads, discs all very good, new clutch lever, the EXUP HAS BEEN REMOVED, this is my second Fazer 1000, first one never had the Ivan jet kit, but had the exup, and to be honest, this Fazer for sale, pulls harder at higher revs, as the two lads in Swansea last night found out, whilst trying to show off on their GSXERs, engine sweet as, same as box, still pulls well over 150mph, on private roads.....reason for selling, still in my thirties, havent matured enough to be able to ride a bike like this sensible, i drive for the Royal Mail, and its only a matter of time!!

Had it on the ebay for £1895, but would accept lower, not to low, or swap for a Tiger or a nice V twin ect...  if it doesnt make make £1600 plus, ill break it for parts...

all in all, a high mileage bike, with some nice extras, clean and mechanically sound, and great value for money...any questions give me a buzz...07894036662

Cheers
Ben.

  YORK RAILWAY MUSEUM
Posted by: fazernigel - 06-07-13, 11:13 AM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

Hi Everybody I was wondering if any of you have been to the York railway museum lately. All the A4 class trains are there together on display to celebrate Mallards stream record of 126mph which was set 75 years ago this week. The engineering on trains are something I got to see. I am planning a trip up from Wiltshire this week  on the fazer and just wondered if anybody has been there recently

  Hunting a foxeye
Posted by: notoriusb.e.n - 05-07-13, 09:56 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (15)

Hi there,

Was recommended to this place by a former Fazer 600 owner to get some owners eye info on the bike and be a good place to look out for a potential bargain?

I've decided to get rid of my current bike, a BMW R1100S and go for something a bit simpler. Its a great bike but too damn expensive on repairs and such. plus as I haven't ridden it over the last year much,  my riding has gotten rusty and I find i'm becoming a very lazy rider and I think I need something I can work a bit harder on - and also simple enough to tinker on for a cack handed neantherdal.

Anyway, having decided on "middleweight" "cheap to run" "simple and bulletproof" I was drawn to the Fazer (I cannot find hardly any bad words about them - apart from the downpipes and that area getting crusty - which is understandable given how exposed it is down there and jap manufacturers propensity to build downpipes from cheapo mild steel) - having had a limited experience of ragging one round olivers mount I did quite enjoy - and then I was drawn to the foxeye in particular for the bigger fuel tank and better looks. It just looks like a friendly fun little bike that just wants to go out and play without all the rigid seriousness of a "Sports" bike.

Gonna nosy around see whats for sale and hopefully if I find one and get on with it, stick around to become a long term happy Fazer owner - and then when I'm ready maybe make the jump up to a big thirsty thou.

Cheers all,
Ben

  Clutch problems?
Posted by: Yamazer-92 - 05-07-13, 08:18 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (22)

Quick question, how would I be able to tell if my clutch has had it? Since I've had the bike it is tricky to pull away and compared to other bikes I've owned the clutch isn't smooth, I don't really enjoy pulling away or slow speed on this bike at all. I thought it may just be character of the bike but I'm now starting to think otherwise and it's getting more and more annoying. A friend of mine has a thundercat that replaced her clutch a while ago and the plates were blue, it was very worn. She said it sounds like mine has similar symptoms. I isn't making any noise I don't think, sometimes when I change gear it snatches a little but the most annoying thing like I say is pulling away. I don't really want to drain all the oil to check the plates because I've only just changed it and should have looked then but never thought. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Smile Does anybody know a 6 tread step ladder that you can fold up to carry on a bike , or a bracket you can fit to a bike to carry a stepladder.
