Does anyone know if the FZR 600 cylinder head, will fit the FZS 600. I have really had some bad luck with broken downpipe studs. Or has anyone got a good FZS 600 head with all exhaust studs by chance. Many thanks

Four months ago my '98 fazer died on me on the by pass doin about 80.
Fiddled with the choke an dropped down to 3rd and it picked up again but wasn't running quite right. managed to limp home 4 miles,  by which time it it was back to normal.

No probs since then apart from tickover so, 3 weeks ago, took off the tank and drained off quite a bit of water. Cleaned thoroughly an flushed carbs out till they ran clear. Have had no trouble till today, when the same thing happened on the same by pass!
Got home again with the help of the choke and low and behold its now running 'normal' again.
However there is a bit of a missfire when revving steadily up to 7-8000 rpm and tickover is a little erratic, the rev counter fluctuating 9-1000 rpm.
Seems like a fuel issue but would be glad of any advice.

Has anyone done this just finding hotels as you go? What are the good and bad points of doing it this way? Is there a website with biker-recommended hotels around Europe? Thinking of maybe next year if I can scrape together the dosh. Not decided on any definite route, would like to free-wheel it if poss. Avoiding the more expensive options, what's a realistic budget for, say, 2 weeks, without being totally strapped? And does anyone else fancy joining me (give me a bit more motivation/enjoyment)?
Would be nice to keep this thread running as a general touring-abroad hints and tips page.

Does the same Givi rack fit all FZS models (years) or are they different for Boxeye/Foxeye?
