  Clutch change query
Posted by: Dman2019 - 01-09-20, 05:02 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (19)

Hi again, i changed the clutch plates and put new springs in it as well, put it all back together as it should be but the clutch leaver is very soft, very little resistance when you let the leaver go.

I adjusted the free play on the handle bar and found out how to do the engine side free play (the screw is as far out as I would dare leave it be) but it hasnt done much to the resistance.

I tried a gentle test as i could on the centre stand and it seemed to change gears ok.

Is this lack of resistance normal? I dont remember the clutch lever being like this when i did the same thing on my previous triumph 900?

Any ideas? Cheers guys

Paint code for the black swing arm, 2003 FZS1000?
Posted by: Trebus - 01-09-20, 05:00 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - No Replies

Maybe I should start a new thread but does anyone have a reference for a suitable paint for the black swinging arm on an FZS1000 2003?

  Maintenance free chain.
Posted by: robbo - 01-09-20, 03:49 PM - Forum: General - Replies (11)

Looks like BMW have come up with a maintenance free chain, which they've called M Endurance. It's being offered as a £100 option on S1000RR's and S1000XR's. Seems all clever stuff in conjunction with Regina by the look of it. Looks like a normal X ring but with an industrial diamond coating (ta-C). No lubing or adjusting. Scott oiler shares will be in a tailspin. :lol

FZ1S touch-up paint colour for gold wheels
Posted by: Steve0998 - 31-08-20, 08:19 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Apologies if this is something that had been covered in another thread.  I have a 2008 FZ1S with the greenish gold wheels.  Over the years these have picked up a few scuffs and scratches. Can anyone recommend a touch-in paint for this colour wheels, please?

Posted by: 66Fazer33 - 30-08-20, 09:07 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (1)

Hi, I've just bought a 2012 Fazer 8. Loving it so far. This is my second Fazer. Years ago I had a 1st gen Fazer 600.

Ive had quite a few bikes in the past and despite MCN's 3 star "review" of the 8 I can confirm its actually a fine machine  Big Grin

  Fork alignment
Posted by: Edwood - 29-08-20, 08:12 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (13)

I'm having one bitch of a time trying to get my forks to line up with the rear. Never had so much trouble doing this job with other bikes. No matter how careful I am, once I tighten everything back up and recheck its moved out of alignment.
Has anyone else had this trouble with a Fazer or am I having a senior moment ??

  Pilot Screw adjuster
Posted by: NitramA - 27-08-20, 07:05 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (7)

Was thinking of having a fiddle with the pilot airscrew adjusters.
Can anyone recommend a tool to do this with the carbs in situ?
