  Coolant hose diameter
Posted by: mars696 - 04-10-13, 05:23 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

Anybody knows the diameter of the coolant hose, at point before it goes to the engine(near generator)?
I want to fit a water temperature gauge, and i must fit a joint pipe for the sensor!
Is this a good place to install the sensor?
Thanks!

  Thinking of selling up
Posted by: coxylaad - 04-10-13, 01:30 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (25)

Hello,
I have owned my fazer 1000 for over 9 years now, and its gone from 7000 miles to 28000 miles, its been a great bike, but lately I am hardly using the the bike anymore, and I am thinking maybes its because I need a change?

I am considering selling up and going for either a 990SMT or a Super Tenere 1200.

I have done an awful lot to the fazer over the years and its pretty much fully fettled including:

wilbers highest spec rear shock
R1 forks with custom offset yoke to cancel out the shorter fork legs
ivans jet kit
Mivv carbon exhaust
K&N air filter
short levers
handgaurds
front and rear carbon fender (or muguards as we call them in england Smile  )
LED rear light.
Givi rear rack and top box.

The bike has never ever let me down and other than consumables its just been a set of rear wheel bearings that I have had to replace.

Question is, its an 02 Fazer with all these bits on, is it worth my while returning it to standard and selling everything seperate, or do you think its worth a punt selling it with everything on?

The bike is clean and I have been offered £2200 as a trade as a stock bike. I would like to clear £3000 for the complete package.

I hope I don't regret it, but I think I need something fresh to re ignite my love for biking.

Anyone use a couple of Shoei CX-1V visors & pinlock lenses?
Posted by: PieEater - 04-10-13, 11:51 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

I've had to replace my XR1000 so have a couple of basically unused genuine Shoei clear visors and a couple of unopened clear anti-fog pinlock lenses that I don't need. Before they go to landfill I thought I'd ask here if anyone could use them? I'd just want whatever it costs for postage.

  Mirror setup
Posted by: wickedmonkey - 04-10-13, 08:58 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (29)

Hi guys,

I'm a new rider and got my FZS600 (98) a couple of months ago and I have a noob question about mirror setup. My mirrors are the standard original ones and no matter how I adjust them, the view directly behind me is obscured by my arms/shoulders.

Is this common? How do you set yours up? Should I be looking to replace them with after market mirrors so I can get a better view behind me or am I missing something obvious?

Thoughts and advice appreciated!

  Carb synchro FZS600

Hi,
I've got 4 gauges, but with 6mm (inlet diameter) hose, also my gauges fit into 6mm hoses (but I think that 4mm with some heating would also fit)
It worked well with SV650, but it seems that I need 4mm hoses to fit into carburetor?

Also I could not find any air valves for 6mm so I've used just needle caps, but there is no way to change air flow... ;(.

1. Can you confirm inlet/outlet diameter of hoses?

2. What do you use as air vales?

3. I could not easily find screws where I can change throttle position, on service manual it's clear on the top of carburetor, but even If I lift my tank I could not properly see it.
What tool/screwdriver do you use to fit the screw?
