Carb synchro FZS600 - Torque - 03-10-13

Hi,
I've got 4 gauges, but with 6mm (inlet diameter) hose, also my gauges fit into 6mm hoses (but I think that 4mm with some heating would also fit)
It worked well with SV650, but it seems that I need 4mm hoses to fit into carburetor?

Also I could not find any air valves for 6mm so I've used just needle caps, but there is no way to change air flow... ;(.

1. Can you confirm inlet/outlet diameter of hoses?

2. What do you use as air vales?

3. I could not easily find screws where I can change throttle position, on service manual it's clear on the top of carburetor, but even If I lift my tank I could not properly see it.
What tool/screwdriver do you use to fit the screw?

Re: Carb synchro FZS600 - limax2 - 03-10-13

1. The brass pipes on the inlet rubbers are 5mm o/d with a raised swaging near the end that is 6mm dia.
2. My dial type vacuum gauges have adjustable restrictor valves attached with a short length of rubber tubing. (To dampen down the needle fluctuations).
3. The screws are not easy to see at first and you need the tank out of the way. A small dia. cross head screw driver which is fairly long, about 15cm at a guess, is required.
Hope that helps.

A torch helps, the screws are in a pretty crappy place.
A long #2 cross head screwdriver is what was suggested, although i'm still not totally convinced as it just didn't feel good to me, and it needs a round shaft, not a hex shaft.
I actually found that a small 4" flat blade screwdriver was spot on for the screw on the right side.  Wink

I also find it best to remove the cradle holding the fuel pump, fuel filter and coil packs - usually have to remove the coil packs from the cradle as well

This gives much better access to the the top of the carbs so you can see what you're foccin doing... small torch helps as well ^^
