What can be done to suspension to improve on hard low speed ride?
Posted by: SteveMc278 - 02-10-13, 10:52 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

Hi,
Read recently on here that hard suspension when riding at low speeds is characteristic of our Mk1 & 2's. So having read that - I'm now able to confirm that my bike also has this characteristic  Sad .
Back & front suspension refresh/improvement is due on my bike in the near future so - does anyone know of any tried and tested upgrades/mods which would make low speed riding over uneven surfaces more comfortable and controllable?

Just taken an mt09 for a spin.
Posted by: stevierst - 02-10-13, 06:29 PM - Forum: General - Replies (62)

Went to Raceways in Fleetwood for a set of brake pads, and there it was, the mt09 spanking new.
I paid for my pads and was asked did I want to take it out for a spin. Silly question really. ......
Within the first 10 seconds I was giggling like a schoolboy with his first porn mag. This thing is a hoot and a half! Massive torque from almost tickover, and it keeps on pulling up to about 12k!!!!
It's like sitting on a light supermoto with twin turbo nitrous power, it's awesome!
It's a hooligan tool, for that there's no doubt. It was trying to wheelie off every roundabout at very low revs! It's a Sunday blast tool, but an every day ride, Erm, no!
Controls feel a bit fisher price, and the mode button works, but would probably get ignored after a while.
I even think it looks cool! Can't wait for a faired version. Smile)

  Leather jacket
Posted by: Adrian6171 - 02-10-13, 01:16 PM - Forum: General - Replies (12)

So i bought a leather Richa jacket off E bay i try it on,zip it up AND the slider comes right off the zip, i contacted the seller who says it is a design so in worst case scenarios the jacket can always be undone, just wondering if any of you can confirm this. Here is a link to the photo.

  Rear Hugger - Zip Ties?
Posted by: HJFazer - 02-10-13, 12:48 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (18)

Hi,

I have a 2000 model FZS600 which, despite an accident earlier in the year (old lady not looking + dual carriageway +rain = slide down road) I absolutely love it! I am however on a budget but want to do it up.

Anyway, so I bought a rear hugger from a breakers on ebay for pretty cheap but when it arrived it turned out it didn't come with a mounting bracket. Fair enough, it was cheap and the buy from ebay didn't say it had one so no issue there. I did ask them if the had the bracket for sale but apparently the hugger had previously been held on using zip ties on the one side.

My question is, if i use the bolts on the chain side of the swing arm, do you think it would be ok to use zip ties through the other side and round the swing arm?

Would be great if someone could help on this, it's hard doing the bike up on a budget and i'm pretty new to all things motorcycles so any advice is appreciated.

Will try to post pics of it soon  Smile
