Picking up my Fz6 fazer in Monday. Had the original Fzs600 as my first big bike (unfortunately wrote it off). Was looking for a smoother all rounder than my Versys and just gelled I stantly with the Fazer - much preferred it in every area to the tdm 900 and cbf1000 I test rode on the same day. So smooth and love that rush of power! Can't wait to get back to fazer ownership ??

I have leaking forks between the slider and the aluminium lower section. I have bought some new oil seals, dust covers and lower bushes. My dealer tells me the upper bushes hardly ever wear out. This will save me £28 plus postage.
What do the experts think on here? The bike has done 30k miles
Thanks

| Decibel police on the A272 |

A “loud pipe unit” captured 3 riders a few days back, on the A272. As they approached one of the villages on that route they got a warning from an oncoming rider that that cops were about. They made sure they were well under 30, came round a bend and got pulled over by this unit. The cops agreed they were doing 26, but could hear the exhaust notes, so placed some microphone kit by the bike, which then got revved to 5k. Apparently excessive noise is considered to be 86db, but give some leeway to 90db. They all failed which incurred a 50 quid non endorsable fine. I think one got done for a small number plate as well. Is this what we’ve got to look forward to now.

Forgive me for I have sinned. I bought an ex demo Tracer GT in Jan this year, after the old girl developed a few problems. Shock knackered, rear wheel bearing shot to bits - plus various other niggly bits and bodywork showing its age.
So she has sat unloved, languishing in the back of the garage. I felt guilty so have bought a Nitro road shock to replace the leaky Hagon, bearings ordered so off we go.
She was running great, 80k on the clock so once MoT'd will use her for the winter to save getting the Tracer too filthy (maybe a bit late as I broke her in at this year's Dragon Rally during storm wassername :lol ).
The Tracer is a great all round bike, but I do miss that top end rush that the thou gives you.
Could do with new tyres as well, are Michelin Pilot Roads still the favourite for all weather riding? Was thinking about maybe doing the occasional track day :eek
Cheers!Colin

Is it normal, as I've just found suggested online (R1 forum), for the bleed nipples to weep fluid out of the threads a bit after brake bleeding?
I hope so, 'cause mine are... :\
Conscientiously, I splurged on three new ones from Yambits.
Ironically, the only one not weeping is the old one round the back of the rear caliper that I wasn't aware of at time of order.
PTFE tape bodge, maybe? Put the old ones back.. (defeatist).
I understand the seal is at the taper not the thread. I suppose its feasible that fluid in the thread from bleeding might 'wick' its way out..
I'll keep cleaning it off for now, fingers crossed.

Just wondered who makes the original Yamaha brake pads? Had a look at mine today while changing the brake fluid, they are o.k but just checked the price from Yamaha ? bloody hell! Don’t want anything fancy that rips the disc to shreds, any recommendations?
