Posted by: Exupnut - 12-02-14, 12:53 AM - Forum: Events, Meets, Ride outs etc - Replies (225)

hi all....here are the details for the next ride...spoke to Bigsteve and Chris.biker and the plan is for a group of lofo's to meet and drive up to market Harborough for some breccy..and another group to meet up with bigsteve and chris.biker @melton Mowbray...and we can do a ride around that way with chris planning a route.that will take in the road between the two towns... a very good road to ride I am told..... it will be a bit of a jaunt for some but as allways well worth it..and if Eddie and Val can drum up a bit of business..then we gonna have a good rideout..times and details to follow so look out for chris.biker's posts...

Have just bought some Renthal 755 bars for my 2003 FZS600. Anything pitfalls or advice i should know about ?Im seem to remember reading somewhere that they need to be shortened a bit, If this is so, is it ok to take an angle grinder to them ? Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated.  Smile

  Original Fairing Graphics
Posted by: Kentish - 11-02-14, 01:33 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (10)

I think it was bought up that they have a clear layer of lacquer over the top giving them a shiny finish. Well I have just got mine. They come in a Matt finish. BUT once you have applied them there is a thin coat of plastic over the top which protects the sticker. Once this is peeled off it will reveal the shiny as it came out the showroom finish!!!!

So whoever thought they are lacquered all I can say is Doh!!!

  Caberg vox crash helmet
Posted by: sheldon22 - 11-02-14, 12:47 PM - Forum: General - Replies (10)

Had my shark helmet for sometime and decided I need a new helmet looked on the sharp test sight and saw that a  number of caberg helmets have 5 star rating and together with the various features they offer compared with other helmets are incredible cheap. The two models that took my fancy are the V2RR and the VOX. So does anyone use one of these models and what do you think of it. Should say I'll be using it on Triumph Sprint so I do have a certain amount of wind protection from the screen where as on my Fazer 600 wind noise and buffeting was more of an issue. Ofcourse I'm open to any other helmet make/model suggestions.
I'm going to the motorcycle show at exel this Friday where I hope I'll get the right helmet at a good price.
So comments and suggestions please

  Fazer 600 with pod filters
Posted by: ChristoT - 11-02-14, 12:46 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (16)

Evening all!!

After a chat with Deefer, an interesting point was brought up: apparently, the FZS600 carbs do not like having K&N pod filters fitted, and the only place that has succeeded in getting one to run smoothly isn't giving up the secret. However, this is a planned bit for my build. So, has anyone here managed to fit K&N pod filters to the carbs, keeping the bike running smoothly, and more importantly: HOW DID YOU DO IT?!?

Just thought I'd throw the question up here, see what people make of it!  Smile
