I think it was bought up that they have a clear layer of lacquer over the top giving them a shiny finish. Well I have just got mine. They come in a Matt finish. BUT once you have applied them there is a thin coat of plastic over the top which protects the sticker. Once this is peeled off it will reveal the shiny as it came out the showroom finish!!!!
So whoever thought they are lacquered all I can say is Doh!!!
They do have a layer of lacquer over them when they come out of the factory...
Where are you getting your information from?
I have a set of genuine stickers here and the old ones I heated up and peeled off the fairing of the bike I have had from new. They are the same 100%
Stickers are applied after the fairing is painted and lacquered. Hence the stickers are not Lacquered in.
I'm pretty sure that mine are lacquered over,--- or am I just thinking about the ones on the tank.
Hmmm when I polish I think I remember it that I get an annoying white line around the decal which would suggest that it has a sharp border and not smoothed over with lacquer
I don't do rain or threat there of. dry rider only with no shame.
My rears were lacquered, as like the tank ones they took a bit of sanding when it was resprayed
+1 not lacquered
reading this just been out in workshop and checked the remains of one fairing :'( and also the other damaged one i have
and both are not lacuered over the graphics and they are both from factory not repainted
Fairing decals are not lacquered over as standard. Tank decals always are to protect them from petrol spills.
