cheers, paul.
Just bought & fitted one of these gizmo's to my 2007 FZ1-S abs. Real easy to fit with very clear instructions.
Thought I'd post these photo's for anyone who is thinking of fitting one but who are unsure as to where the required connections are situated once you remove the seats & petrol tank.
First connection you'll need to find is the Speed Sensor Coupler. It is the small white connector with 3 wires as shown in the photo
Second one is the Crankshaft Position Sensor which has two wires
3rd & final one to find is the switched +12v wire to the rear brake light
The indicator is a good add on which I've fitted (or paid to have fitted) to most of the bikes I've owned.
To set it up it has to 'learn' the gears which I did by running through the gearbox with the engine running whilst it was on the centre stand.
Hope this is of some help to those that are thinking of fitting one of these.
I know it's been done to death. But on the Shetland rideout with Chris last Sun, normal cruising speed was fine. But on the home run I was up at slightly illegal speeds for 1/2 hour and the wind noise was quite annoying. I have a DB screen on at the moment. Some of it is probably my HJC HQ-1 helmet. Has anybody got the MRA screen below fitted. Secondly does anyone have one in there shed/garage I can borrow to try. Bit expensive to buy and find it doesn't make a noticeable difference. http://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/Yamaha_F...reens.html
Gents...
I have a Micron can on my bike and have found one of the wire lugs that the retaining spring hooks into has nearly worn through. I have new springs to go on but fear they will now cut through the metal eye. How can I strengthen it?
There are plenty of threads regarding rear suspension set up - changing to R6 shock, or Nitron, Ohlins giving best results.
How about front set up? What's best to do to make handling more sporty and improve feel? Are additional parts required or stock front could be adjusted?
Hi All. I'm pretty new to bikes (owned a cg125 for about 5 months and a zzr600 for about 2 weeks - both back in 2012). I’m off to look at a second hand FZS600 (2003 model) tomorrow having already half purchased it, as it were, as it seemed such a good deal (£1000 and only about 14000 miles on the clock). Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for? (assuming I can still pull out of the deal!) Any advice gratefully received. Thanks, Tom
OK so I bought the unit from our resident good egg Luke, but before I fit the unit I wondered if anyone has actually used a jack up kit WITH the R6 unit? I spoke to Luke but he's unsure if anyone has, so before I fit said unit I thought I'd ask the question on here, I'm over 6ft and my last Fazer had the jack up kit and it suited me well, but throw in the R6 shock into the equation and I'm unsure as to how the handling will be???
sorry guys - this is not related to the topic but not sure where to post. just registered with foc-u and am seeking advice on a possible fazer purchase. if anyone can tell me where i should be posting i'd be grateful. many thanks, tom
