  Chain adjuster issue
Posted by: mobile mouse - 29-04-14, 12:39 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (6)

Hi,
I was adjusting the chain for slack last night and the axle did move back reluctantly. Especially on the brake caliper side it really looks crudded up.
So I took off both nuts on one side but I could not get the end plate off. To clean inside.

Can it get really crudded inside with winter riding that this endplate gets stuck.
Has anyone else suffered this. I didn't want to resort to any heavy handedness till I know if it just requires a tap with a screwdriver and hammer to knock off the end plate. I don't want to damage the threads.
I looked at some pictures of the endplates and they have 4 corner pieces which I am assuming are crudded up with road salt inside the swing arm.

Any help would be appreciated.

  givi monokey v monolock
Posted by: andyajaxfreeman - 29-04-14, 11:58 AM - Forum: General - Replies (7)

hello people i have just phoned up my local yamaha dealer and inquired about having A givi box and recommended that on a fz1 i should have a monolock system wish i was always under the impression that the monolock was for scooters and lightweight bikes. Has anybody on here had a monokey plate on a fz1? I would rather have the monokey with a bigger box than a 37ltr with a monolock plate. many thanks

  Selling Telescope
Posted by: hightower - 29-04-14, 08:48 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (5)

Wondered if anyone here was interested, would prefer local pickup rather than having to ship:

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/az-goto/...-goto.html

Automated system makes finding objects a doddle. Really easy to set up (I can do in about 10-15 minutes). Extras include home-made cables (allowing to be plugged in to PC), a home-made webcam (I’ve made some nice little videos of Jupiter and the moon using this), and a home-made Baader filter (allowing you to view spots on the sun’s surface, when we actually get some sun!).

Anyway, the scope is fully functional – the only thing to note is one of the plastic fasteners is cracked on the tripod, but it doesn’t make a difference to the functionality, it still holds the weight of the telescope as expected.

If anyone's interested then we'll talk money Smile

So how big is yours ? ;)
Posted by: Merls - 28-04-14, 10:09 PM - Forum: FZ6 / FZ6 Fazer - Replies (9)

Trying to work out if i can squeeze a FZ6 into my garage next to my Mazda 6, I've read on wikipedia that the width is 29.5 inches but as could someone do me a favour and tell me the width at the front (guessing handbars are the widest part) and the width of the rear of it please.

I've lined my garage walls with carpet but its gonna be tight i think as only got about 25 inches at the rear in clearance  (lots at front) unless im brave parking the car closer to other wall.

Im guessing the height of 47.6 inches is to top of  a standard wind shield. ?

Cheers for any info

  which cheap levers?
Posted by: mickvp - 28-04-14, 09:57 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (27)

I see from the "fazer parade" that a lot of you guys have those Pazzo-style levers on your bikes. I really like em, but dont fancy paying pazzo prices when there are others on the bay for £20-30. Although, there is also a lot of tat out there, can anyone point me in the right direction of a reasonably cheap set which is not utter junk and wont snap the first time I pull it?

Thanking you Smile

Also, a REALLY daft question about my clutch lever. is there anyway to adjust how close to the bars the clutch bites in. the free play is set corectly, but it bites when its almost all the way out - and its uncomfy for my hand (the extra bend in the pazzo style levers will move the whole lever closer to the bars im hoping).

  TPS for a Gen 1 1000 needed

Hi everyone,

This is a long shot, but has anyone got a Throttle Position Sensor attached to a knackered set of FZS1000 Gen 1 carbs they'd be willing to sell? Mine's on the way out and a new one is hundreds.

For sale- clocks for Gen 1 Fazer 1000
Posted by: Ketty - 28-04-14, 08:52 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

Set of clocks for Gen 1 Fazer 1000. good condition all in tact just a very minor mark on the face of the rev counter. I bought these as I thought I had a fault with mine but turned out to be a loose connection.
I have connected them and they work fine. I think they had 40k miles on them but it was a while ago and they have just been sitting in my garage.

UPDATE - For anyone interested I have managed to clean most of the mark off the rev counter but there is still a slight scratch See second pic

£40 plus postage which should be about £5
