Looking for some gen 1 Fazer 1000 handlebars to replace mine which have a slight bend after a low-speed drop.
Either standard or lower aftermarket ones would be good - I find the standard bar position a bit high so had tilted them back and down.
Not keen on anything I'm going to have to drill, cut or beat into shape on an anvil though as short on time and shed space. :-)

Stupid here. After picking up a VGC gen 1 FZ1, I managed to drop it turning right across a dual carriageway in a hurry.
My excuses are as follows - cold tyres, small gap and my throttle control isn't perfect due to a wrist injury sustained shortly after recently going over the bonnet of a van at 40mph, which wrote my old bike off.
Anyway, the Fazer was miraculously unscathed apart from the bar end being chewed up and the handlebars being slightly bent and out of alignment with the front wheel.
To fix the alignment, I slackened all the clamps off on the yokes, together with the handlebar clamps, and pushed everything down several times. That seemed to work pretty well but I managed to push one of the forks about 2cm through the top yoke, and it doesn't seem to want to go down again.
Tried pulling the front of the bike up by the bars, with my foot on the front wheel, with everything slackened off again, but nothing. Am I missing something?
Oddly. the bike seems to ride fine like this but I'm sure it can't be healthy. Any suggestions appreciated!
Ta, Chris in Cheshire.
PS will be posting wanted ad for new bars shortly, either standard or lower aftermarket ones.

Hello All
...again. I haven't been round here for a while and I've re-registered since you've moved to a different board (from Yuku). Used to have a FZS600 when I used to be on FOC-U fairly regulary. Moved up to a FZS1000 about 6 years and probably going to swap that in for a 2008 FZ1 on Saturday.
I live near Bath and Bristol.
Just stopped by to say hello. If any admins read this, is there any way I can get back my old post count? I was under the same username.
Cheers
Martin

Just wondering if anyone has tips coverting a fazer to naked/streetfighter type bike.
Did this to my 53 reg 600 hornet but adapting clocks etc was a bit tricky. Would like to do on a budget if poss.
Anyone used the nose cone/headlight units available in great variety on ebay?
Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a brand/supplier for the FZS 600 ? I see plenty listed for FZS 1000. Ideally the longer length pattern. Finding it a bit of a stretch on the standard clutch! Thanks

So yet to change rear pads as I thought I'd remove shock and offer up the thou shock I now have. Bottom bracket removed and shock finally between frame and swing arm I lift shock up to top bracket.
Now I know some frame has to be cut, just not sure where, thus my reason for this exercise. But what I found is it seems the water tank is in the way aswell and this hasn't been mentioned.
Am I missing something?
