  Rear shock ? ....sorry!
Posted by: Mark YPVS - 12-12-21, 09:44 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (15)

Hi All,

so rode the Fazer 1000 gen1 round the block and the front forks are leaking so 1st question whats the preferred springs for road riding(progressive with 7.5 oil?)  and 2nd question is the R6 08 on rear shock a straight swap and does that include 2017 to present R6 rear shock ?

i did read a lot on here so i think i have answered my own question but if someone could confirm that would be great and at least its not a which oil/tyres question  :rollin :rollin

  Limescale on barrels water pipes
Posted by: fazerbcn - 11-12-21, 09:46 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (2)

As part of my nightmare of coolant system, I have ended with the water pipes from the barrel removed, repainted, and now coming back to place, but realised that a lot of limescale (mixed with the rust of the old metal pipes of my bike) has behind left on the wall of the barrel.

You can see the level of limescale on here:

Does anybody know of a good way of removing it?

Should it be good to go with new O-ring a proper greased? (I am thinking going this way, to avoid doing more bad than good, and in the hope that it will not end worst than it was before I started the works... And I can always remove it again and put new O-rings again...

Thanks a lot in advance,

Hi All,

so its been awhile since I've been on here after i sold the Fazer 600 and brought an R1 i swiftly named Triggers Broom  Smile , had it a couple of years, then got a R1 5vy which i still have.

Had several bikes to commute on (scooters 125 ,AJS Cadwell 125, Xmax 300,) but recent thought Fazer 1000 Gen 1, so i brought a bit of a donkey in the looks dept (badly painted wheels /engine/ rusty frame but only surface) but 2 previous owners and 34k miles.

it has a few issues.. no mot, no neutral light, right indicators/ hazards don't always work but the main concern is its clunky from 1st to 2nd, i haven't ridden it yet but is this normal , seem to remember my 5JJ was the same.

i will ask these questions in the Fazer 1000 section as well or feel free to move this whole thread there. :rollin :rollin

Engine stalls when put in gear
Posted by: neilr - 02-12-21, 11:11 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (8)

Hi

I have yet another problem with my yamaha fazer fzs 600 2003. The bike is stalling every time I put it in gear, first of all I suspected an electrical fault so I tested both the side stand switch and the clutch switch all working ok.
I have tried adjusting the clutch cable but this appears to have done nothing? Finally I put the bike in gear and check the back wheel to confirm it was in gear then I pulled the clutch lever assuming the rear wheel would now turn freely(bike on  stands). Bang! The bike appears to still be in gear with the lever pulled, I've adjusted the cable both way but still no joy. Finally the question would you suspect the cable to be stretched and so doing nothing or something else?

Thanks
