Clearing out the garage and found this sitting on a shelf. Definitely have the can and link pipe, assume the hangar and baffle are still attached but will confirm Monday when I get home.

Gen 1 fork oil capacity/air gap problem
Posted by: robbo - 22-10-16, 10:24 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (12)

Helped Flooky to carry out a straightforward fork oil change today. However after filling the leg with the recommended 435cc of 5w and doing the necessary pumping to expel any air, the air gap was nowhere near the prescribed 140mm, more like 80mm, which to attain the correct air gap would have meant removing a high percentage of oil. I checked with a Yamaha dealership who agreed with my capacity/air gap dimensions. We decided to forego attaining the air gap and reassembled the forks. I've never encountered this problem before, as, having the proper air gap tool, you can normally slightly overfill the leg and suck out the excess oil to achieve the necessary gap. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance folks.

  Stunt practise spots
Posted by: canni - 22-10-16, 08:01 PM - Forum: General - Replies (3)

Quick question to fellow bikers Smile

The Santa Pod Raceway is a bit far away from me, do you know any legal places (may be with paid entry) where one could have some stunt tricks practise (wheeles, stoppies, etc.)
around SW London / Surrey area?

I just switched from Virago 535 witch isn't a stunter choice really Wink So I want to have some practise on fazer, and get to know the bike better Big Grin

EDIT:

This is what I found on Google:http://www.stuntasylum.com The operate on the Dunsfold Park a.ka Top Gear Test track it's a full day course ~£200

  Exup servo pulley - lubricate?
Posted by: Jagman - 20-10-16, 10:57 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Finally got rid of a persistent EXUP error reading after several adjustments of the cables... but noticed the servo pulley looks heavily rusted. Would spraying it with WD40 damage cable traction on the pulley?

  fazer 1000 exup valve/downpipes
Posted by: cl1ve2004 - 20-10-16, 03:20 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

looking for an exup valve as mine is shot to buggery (posted today in fazer 1000)

possibly need downpipes as well (gotta crack in rear fixing point)..

Anybody got a valve for sale (as a starting point) or possibly decent downpipes with valve???

With the research I have done here (thank goodness for this site)I think the R1 1999 valve will fit so another option
possibly??

Cheers Clive
