Gen 1 fork oil capacity/air gap problem |

Helped Flooky to carry out a straightforward fork oil change today. However after filling the leg with the recommended 435cc of 5w and doing the necessary pumping to expel any air, the air gap was nowhere near the prescribed 140mm, more like 80mm, which to attain the correct air gap would have meant removing a high percentage of oil. I checked with a Yamaha dealership who agreed with my capacity/air gap dimensions. We decided to forego attaining the air gap and reassembled the forks. I've never encountered this problem before, as, having the proper air gap tool, you can normally slightly overfill the leg and suck out the excess oil to achieve the necessary gap. All suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance folks.

Having a broken fairing that i'm planning to replace with a triumph triple round headlights or a single one or a "streetfighter" look light with fairing.
Need info on bracket for the speedometer etc. And also where to get a tidy tail bracket.
Have searched the forum, but couldn't find the info i'm looking for.

Exup servo pulley - lubricate? |

Finally got rid of a persistent EXUP error reading after several adjustments of the cables... but noticed the servo pulley looks heavily rusted. Would spraying it with WD40 damage cable traction on the pulley?

looking for an exup valve as mine is shot to buggery (posted today in fazer 1000)
possibly need downpipes as well (gotta crack in rear fixing point)..
Anybody got a valve for sale (as a starting point) or possibly decent downpipes with valve???
With the research I have done here (thank goodness for this site)I think the R1 1999 valve will fit so another option
possibly??
Cheers Clive
