foccer font of knowledge - mirror hanging
Posted by: HarryHornby - 04-12-16, 11:21 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

Hi Guys,

Just got a mirror to go over the fireplace, it's not mega heavy but certainly more than a picture of the same size, it's 94cm X 68cm.  It's already got a doubled up heavy gauge cord to hang it from.

I've never hung anything this heavy before so my question is, what fittings and how many?

My initial guess is 2 brown rawlplugs with screws placed about 10cm either side of the centre line.  Would that be ok?  would one be ok?  I'm guessing a large picture hook nailed into the wall certainly wouldn't be up to the job.

  Gen 1 screen

replaced the screen from my gen 1 that was fitted when I bought it and if anyone needs one its free to a good home just gimme the postage. It's in pretty good nick but I'm not sure if it's standard height or shorter and if I've posted a pic correctly you can see it's a dark screen.

Does anyone have an old seat for a 2001 model kicking around they don't need?

I've owned my bike now for approx. 2 weeks and love it! Yesterday I removed the removable baffle from the end pipe and i've got to say it has really smoothed out the acceleration. Before, putting the power on around roundabouts  was a bit on/off (this may be down to me though as being a 'new rider ) but now it seems to be a lot more gradual. Also it sounds a bit more deeper which is what I was looking for.

  Baffle causing leaness?
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 02-12-16, 07:36 PM - Forum: General - Replies (14)

I removed my baffle earlier just to see what it sounded like and decided to leave it out for the day but while out riding I seemed to notice signs of lean running again? Pops on deceleration, revs hanging slightly and smells rather hot around the downpipes?
I'm just wondering if removing the baffle can make that much difference or is it just a more noticeable underlying condition?

It's a 2007 fz1n with all the mods except flies (they are still standard)

  Nasty Surprise
Posted by: Andy1970 - 02-12-16, 07:34 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (42)

I was planning to re-paint the rear subframe on the Fazer that I bought in August, due to a bit of rust around the footrest hangers.

Because the chain was right on the wear limit I thought I'd fit a new chain and sprockets at the same time, and I've just found out that SOME F*CKER HAS WELDED THE FRONT SPROCKET NUT ON.  :eek

The sprocket's lose on the shaft and the nut has a bloody great lump of weld all over the end of it.

Either way, looks like the engine's going to have to come out a year earlier than I'd planned. What the hell is wrong with some people?

Going to the shop now to buy beer.

  New French Gloves Law
Posted by: YamFazFan - 02-12-16, 07:10 PM - Forum: General - Replies (17)

An article in this months Vintage Motorcycle Club book drew my attention to this.

Apparently France has introduced a new law making it compulsory to wear gloves when riding a motorcycle.
