i sold my 12 plate blue fazer 8 about 18 months and only realised now just what a good bike it had been to me. I traded it in and another local bike shop took it and sold it in their shop instead. I was never going to be happy until I got it back so took it for a test ride and it put a great smile on my face. I pick it up next week.
I issue I have is going into corners I feel the front wants to tuck in. Is this normal for the 8 or is it the tyres. I am thinking of changing them for PR3's. any thoughts on tyre change? :rolleyes

Hi Guys
So my Fazer 600 2000 has a Micron end can, stainless steel downpipes and link pipe, it was pretty much silent.
I wanted to give it a bit of a growl so have cut the end can from what was 19inch to 11inch and removed the baffle from the link pipe....
Holy crap it is insanely loud as pretty much a straight through pipe now, now wearing ear plugs :'(
Regrettably i would like to reverse the effect and quieten it down a little and thought I'd start with the link pipe.
If anyone has an spare link pipe sitting around, please let me know will obviously pay
Video to follow tomorrow...
Regards

A slightly leftfield question here, but after a career swerve I now work as a tree surgeon, I have got the main tickets and am working regularly for one firm, just starting to do work up in the trees. In order to expand my experience I may do some subcontractor work around London - for which using the bike would be ideal. My forum request therefore I whether anyone has any experience of carrying around a chainsaw on a bike safely, ideally without removing the bar and chain, so something which encases both, is secure and ideally allows me to lock away some gear on the bike while I work, so I think a hardcase pannier system, no topbox as most of my climbing gear fits nicely into a haul bag which I would strap to the back of the bike..
Any ideas appreciated.
Cheers.

Am I going to melt my engine? |

So because Im fed up of my stock exhaust, and it has a massive dirty great big dent in it, I bought this: http://www.pipewerx.com/yamaha-fzs-600-f...haust.html
Housemate fellow biker is convinced that:
a) Im a hooligan and going to deafen everyone in the world (he says with his de-catted straight through BMW R1200 :rollin )
b) its going to cause serious fuelling issues and make the bike run so lean that it melts the pistons or something
So my question to you FOCers is am I going to potato the engine? If so what do I need to do to prevent said potato-ing of the engine. Its my understanding that Fazers tend to run hella rich as standard, do I really need to get my carbs re-jetted because that sounds like a lot of hassle and expense.
As far as I know the bike engine/carbs are totally standard. Only thing in the system thats not standard is the K&N "high flow" air filter, and soon to be this exhaust.
