  Made me laugh
Posted by: lew600fazer - 03-02-17, 10:36 AM - Forum: General - Replies (28)

Because of his stupidity and clumsiness, his Reception Class teacher was always yelling at him, "You're driving me crazy, Tyrone!"

One day, Tyrone's mother came to school to check on how he was doing. The teacher told his mother honestly, that her son was simply a disaster, getting very low marks, and that she had never seen such a stupid boy in her entire teaching career.

The mother was so shocked at the feedback that she withdrew her son from school, moved out of London and relocated to Birmingham.

Twenty-five years later, the teacher was diagnosed with an almost incurable cardiac disease. All the doctors strongly advised her to have open heart surgery, but there was only one surgeon in Britain who could perform the operation and he was located at the Birmingham Clinic. Left with no other options, the teacher decided to have the operation which, was successful.

When she came round after surgery she saw a handsome young doctor smiling down at her. She wanted to thank him, but could not talk. Her face started to turn blue, she raised her hand, trying to tell him  something but quickly died. The doctor was shocked; wondering what could possibly have gone  wrong so suddenly. Then he turned around and saw our friend Tyrone, a cleaner in the Clinic, who had unplugged the life-support equipment in order to connect his vacuum cleaner.

........ if you thought for one moment that Tyrone had become a heart-surgeon, there is a high likelihood that you voted for Jeremy Corbyn and he believes in fairies as well !!

  FZ1 Gen 2 missfire
Posted by: FZ1obp - 02-02-17, 09:13 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Guys
Before Xmas I jet washed the bike and then stored it in a fairly humid shed until the new year  - result took several miles to run even normally..... It's a 2009 bike of some 46,000 miles and has always run well until now.
Now 5 weeks later of commuting I've an intermittent low speed misfire - more like a slow speed cough stall  I  used to get on my old 525 Katie.

So the plan is, having bought a spare coil, to test all the coils, dry, strip and clean the wiring above the engine (spraying GT85 here caused a misfire)and maybe spray it with electrical sealer. I'm hoping that the problem is caused by a coil breaking down. Does this make sense?

Before I take the bike apart is there anything else I need to be looking at?

Many thanks
orlando

  Coolant Check
Posted by: Dudeofrude - 02-02-17, 01:06 PM - Forum: General - Replies (21)

Just doing some routine maintenance and thought I'd take the radiator cap off to have nose. Now I've never changed coolant before or even looked at it so I'm just wondering if this looks ok?
Seems really full, especially seeing as it's on the side stand in this pic?
Also it's a weird yellowy watery substance. Thought coolant was either blue or green?
What do you guys think?

  SOLD - FZ1 Front Sprocket - 16 tooth Renthal
Posted by: Fazafou - 02-02-17, 10:03 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (1)

UPDATE - NOW SOLD

Hi all,

I fitted a 16 tooth sprocket to my Gen II, but after a few hundred miles found I prefer the standard gearing and so switched it over yesterday.

It's a Renthal sprocket and barely any wear (certainly no visible wear) having done only a few hundred miles.

Cost me about 17 quid, but happy to send it to anyone who wants it for around a tenner.

PM me if interested.  Will put it on ebay next week if no interest.

Cheers,
Rob.

  12V euro vehicle socket
Posted by: Pandy - 02-02-17, 12:26 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (1)

Hi guys!

I am in doubt, many items from which to chose and no experience for that.

I own a 5DM4, so a '99 model and I would like to put a euro vehicle socket on; using especially for charging the camera (I want to use a Gitup Git2 as a dashcam) and, sometimes, for charging the phone or a GPS.

For those you use, could you please guide me to buy something that has a good price/quality ratio?

Thanks!

  Heading to France?

Not sure if it's been covered here but I understand from another forum that vehicles, including bikes, will shortly require an emissions sticker for entry to Paris Lyon and Grenoble! Not got all the details but RAC website assists.
Just a heads up for those traveling abroad ?

  Crash
Posted by: Grant1Shepherd - 01-02-17, 09:45 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (55)

Hi guys

last night I was out ridding and approaching a green light at about 30mph when out of nowhere 4 people ran out into the road hoping to cross, I had to swerve to avoid them but sadly lost control and came off. I've managed to escape with just a fractured wrist, however the bike is a bit beat up, both mirrors and right side indicator are loose, front fairing is cracked and scratched, exhaust completely fell off and bent, and lastly the right hand side engine shell cracked and allowed all the oil out.

As you can imagine I'm gutted and heartbroken, I love this bike with all I have, and all I want to know is if it is fixable, I know mirrors, indicators, fairings and exhaust all are but I'm so worried about any potential other damage caused by cracking the engine shell, at the moment I just can see there's no oil left in the engine.

Photos of broken bits are attached  Sad

Thanks guys
