Making a track bike from my Fz1s
Posted by: slimwilly - 05-02-17, 05:34 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (79)

So i have a spare bike and after doing two trackdays last year I thought I would gather up some spare plastics and a tank and make a set of track fairings and take off the original blue plastics and keep safe incase I wish to revert back to tidy roadbike.

So first was the collection of plastics and tank

The 2017 FOC-U Bike Picture Challenge
Posted by: HarryHornby - 05-02-17, 01:10 PM - Forum: General - Replies (325)

Here we go.... can't be arsed waiting about.

A reiteration of the rules.

1. All challenges must be of YOUR bike and a landmark, or something obscure or creative, something most people can ride to in their area.

2. Picture has to be taken after challenge is made.

3. Challenge is good for a week; if it is not met after that time, the previous picture poster picks a new challenge.

4. Nothing illegal to be challenged.

5. Keep comments to a minimum; if you comment, post the current challenge in bold type after your comment.

6. No repeat challenges.

7. No other bikes can be used, eg, your bike next to a Ducati. Some exceptions will be allowed, eg, your bike next to a bike cop.

8. Only 1 person can win each challenge; any other entrants will not be counted, due to throwing the whole game off track and adding challenges that don't stand.

9. If any dispute about a challenge occurs, 3 oks from others settles the challenge.

Remember, this thread is supposed to get people to want to go ride straight away and beat others to the challenge - be creative, but be sensible about it.

Have fun Foccers!

  Stuck Clutch
Posted by: crickleymal - 05-02-17, 10:47 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (22)

The bike's been off the road for a month due to weather and work and stuff. The last time I did this in December the clutch plates seized up. I didn't notice until I put it into gear when there was a clunk and the engine stalled. Fortunately that seemed to cure it. It's happened again but before I try the jamming it into gear malarkey, is there anything else I could do firstly to fix it and secondly to stop it happening again?

  Car Wanted
Posted by: HarryHornby - 05-02-17, 09:02 AM - Forum: General - Replies (19)

Hi Guys,

Is anyone near Kent selling a car?  Or do you know of anyone selling one?

My commuting car has finally given up the ghost.  Ideally looking for something less than a grand but could spend more for the right car.

Just needs to be reliable, I'm after a car for commuting, not a show car.

  New front end
Posted by: matt7chunk - 04-02-17, 11:46 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (17)

Hey guys,  had a play today with a cheap headlight to see if I want to change my front end,  I like the bike without the fairing and plan to get a decent twin head light and some better mounts with rubber on the clamps,

Can't decide how to mount the instrument cluster,  come up from the headlight mounts?  Of the top yoke?  Modify the original front sub frame?

Any ideas appreciated,  here's some pics of it as it is now.

  Painting exhaust collector box
Posted by: teecee90 - 04-02-17, 10:16 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Has anyone tried painting the cast exhaust collector box? It's the only thing in my opinion that lets the bike appearance down. They always seem to rust and look nasty. If anyone has tried painting, did it turn okay and does the paint stay on for long? If so, what paint did you use?

Cheers
