  Pillion verdict.

I took the OH on the back of the 600 today. We only did about 50 miles but she's happy and if she happy, I'm happy. The suspension coped better than I'd expected but it wasn't loaded with a weeks worth of female accoutrements + 2 clean tee-shirts and a spare pair of  boxers  :lol  The seats big enough and comfy, the footrests are in the right place and on the whole it's apparently a nice place to sit. All good so far :thumbup

You can pick up some 10w40 semi synth oil (the stuff that our fazers like) mega cheap at the 'Home Bargains' discount chain.
it's £2 a litre. Yes! £2 a litre!  :thumbup

  • 4 years ago I had this discussion on here and decided to be the Guinea pig to try it out.
  • 4 years and several oil changes later, i can confirm it is absolutely fine, and a good price too.
[added to the op as I figured it would be usefull info - biker]

Brake pistons and stuck retaining pins
Posted by: Tubz1983 - 25-03-17, 01:27 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (7)

Replacing pads and discs before MOT. Right hand side caliper is done but the pistons did not come out evenly?! Top two pistons are ok but bottom two dont pop out as much, particular on one side, in fact it hardly moves?!
Is this normal? Im guessing not...

  Stainless Downpipes
Posted by: vinnyb - 25-03-17, 11:30 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (28)

I'm sure I read somewhere that the later model fazers got stainless downpipes as standard, can anyone tell me if this is right or am I imagining it?

An english man & a scotsman etc
Posted by: lew600fazer - 25-03-17, 01:38 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

An English man , a Scotsman and an Irishman want to go to the Olympic games but don't have tickets. As they are walking to the venue they pass a building site.
The Englishman spots a scaffolding pole picks it up and goes to entrance , He says George pole vault and they let him in. The Scotsman sees a grating  and says Jimmy discus, the Irishman sees a roll of barbed wire and says Shemaus, fencing

TPs or Carb Balance / idle jets
Posted by: HydrocarbonPrimate - 24-03-17, 09:37 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (5)

I'm having some rough running issues at low speed, it seems to be slowly getting worse the bike is horrible to ride at low speed, jerky. I set the idle speed at 1250ish but after its warm it idles at 2,100 ish, It will stall when warming up sometimes. Is this a TPS issue or a carb balance issue or blocked idle jets?

I had a diversion before this and I spent ages messing around with carbs, only to find it was the ecu and other relay looking thing that has something to do with ignition, that was full of water and corroded inside, It runs sweet now.

I really hate working on bikes, I'm a mechanic all week I don't want to spend my weekends fixing my bike I just want to ride it!!

how do I check TPS do I just unplug it and the rev gauge should move? what should it move to?

I also have what feels like a stiff link in the chain at low speeds, Ive checked the front sprocket is tight and wiggled each link in the chain as I've lubed them but can't feel any stiff, am I just not moving them enough to "feel the stiffness"  :lol  or could it be something else?

  Please help!

OK so I bought my fazer about a month ago... Lovely bike to ride and I was over the moon with it.... Then all of a sudden 2 days ago the bike started to jitter/stutter like it wants to stall... Ive narrowed it down and this only happens when the bike is warm and under hard acceleration... Any ideas!?
