Hi all,
I'm Timbo, usually on the Fazer 1000 forum :lol !
Opinions please. My wife to be is about to pass her test (she better had or else) would a Gen 2 FZ6 be new rider friendly? All things considered I think she will make a good rider in time so I would have thought she would be okay on one although I understand they are a bit frisky?
Are there any major issues with them?
Is there anything I need to know before I go looking for one?
Thanks
Bw

Hi all. Just returned to 2 wheels after a gap of 18 years, nice to be back. Picked up my mint 99 fazer on Friday and can't get enough of it. Looking forward to getting some miles under my belt as the summer goes on.

trying to set forks up after full rebuild and oil change Castrol 5 wt oil but kept standard springs,,
1 ring showing is hard on normal riding until I do the bends at speed when it feels so solid and planted..
3 rings showing great on normal riding but not so planted at speed in bends as i accelerate rapidly (drifts wide)..
2 rings feels mushy and vague
Got devilsyam r6 shock mod which is brilliant :b dilemma is r6 front forks or progressive/linear springs as both will be roughly the
same cost or try different weight oil as first port of call..
Any input welcome..ps 13.5 stone with the gear on.. sag etc set ok...

Hi all,
Bought my 2008 FZ6 back in November '16 and have ridden almost every day since! Absolutely love it for london commuting, and am about to set off on a two-up Europe tour on Monday to really stretch the bike's legs. Will post again when we return with photos etc
Happy riding to you all

Howde all,
I have just become the proud owner of this beastie:
![[Image: Mfutzx.jpg]](http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/923/Mfutzx.jpg)
2005 FZS 1000
It has come with a fair few mods.
Akrapovic carbon end can, AIS gubbins and EXUP valve removed.
Ohlins internals forks and Ohlins shock with remote preload, crash bungs, LED rear lights with integrated indicators, colour coded bits and bobs, rad protector, heated grips, comfort seat.
It also has the FZ1 master cylinder for the front brake and braided hoses all round.
Full service history, and less than 15k miles. It's my first Yamaha, having had Kawasakis, Hondas and Ducatis over the years.
As for me, I'm not nearly as interesting, or modified, vastly higher mileage and live on the outskirts of Dublin.
Cheers,
Lord_D
